I just went up and down the thread commenting on everyones list. I wish it would say Doomsday instead of Frank Morris (not my name, it's actually the name of the guy who "supposedly" escaped from Alcatraz with the Anglin brothers)

Mat - A great list of classics. I wonder though if you're not giving more modern films a fair shake. To each their own I suppose.
Yeah, I'm of the school of thought that we (especially on these boards) give modern movies more credit than they deserve. Granted I have a couple modern classics (Fargo and Pulp Fiction), but how is The Lord of the Rings trilogy any more epic than say Lawrence of Arabia or Se7en more suspenseful than The Third Man? I'm not spawning any debates, but that's just what I think...
and heh, there's no Citizen Kane on my list...
Anywho, on to the reviews...
Poeman: Good #1, ok #2, Great #3... not a bad list.
cg124: A mix of good Tarantino, horror, and comic book movies. You definately need to see some Leone if Kill Bill Vol2 is your 2nd favorite movie...
Mat: One word... Brilliant!
TyRoss: I don't really share the love of most of the "classics" on your list (except North by Northwest). Dogma is the best Kevin Smith Film and there aren't any bad ones on your list... except for ahhh Walking Tall at 29. ;)
Peter: Not a bad list... there are a few I really liked. I'm not a big Fincher fan though...
Tony Samo: Some good blockbusters... except I hate Ghost...
Doomsday: Your top 6 is definately great... the rest is very good

Poeman: Great List Share lots of Top Movies ;)
TyRoos: Excelent Old Timer List... lots of Classics but I must say I HATE Dogma... i don't know why everybody love this movie... its childish anyway... great list
cg124.. very decent List... I would put all of your in my next 30 if could be posible a top 50.. the only ones I would left behind would be The Crow, donnie Darko and Dawn of the Dead... good movies but not that good.
Mat. interesting List!...lots of cult, dark movies... very nice
Peter: nice... lots of great movies
Doomsday: good list lots of mix genders.. nice

See I put Ninja Turtles on there because it's just a guilty fav, but it feels so out of place with the other ones, you go from like "The Godfather" to......"Ninja Turtles?" Eh, it'll probably be gone as I think of more.

The list is bound to be in a constant state of change. I can think of at least 50 other movies that should be on that list, but I had no room. The positions are bound to change too. I'll probably add and subtract movies as I see fit so they'll all eventually have a slot on the list at least once.

Well theres mine, be gentle. BTW, I would have a lot of other movies up there but they don't let you classify trilogies as one movie. ;)
This list will probably change soon, I'll probably have to replace something in order to fit Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. lol probably lol.

God I have checked out everyone's list and you all have movies that would be on my list somewhere. I could use a top 100 the only problem is really deciding what order after the top 20.

05-14-2004, 01:03 AM
i commented on your list . you have alot of recent movies Necross, Of course i like them alot. lol i left kill bill out because it really is one movie

05-14-2004, 01:05 AM
Like I said if I had more room, I would put more, I added a couple in my comment section, i mentions What Ever Happened to Baby Jane, and there is another old movie I cannot remember the name of. Something like Lady in A steel Cage or something, I am pretty sure its Hitchcock.
And actually I only see like two changes I might make, I know I will replace something for HP and the POA. i know I will love that and then we will have to see about The Village. Other than that I don't see any other movies causing my list to change anytime after that.

05-14-2004, 01:09 AM
Not even after You see Catwoman and Thunderbirds?;)
hahahaha!!!;)
Necross
05-14-2004, 01:16 AM
Hmm.....now that you mention it.............no, no it won't change. lol
Anyway, i don't mean that besides those two there is nothing else good coming out, but I know that nothing will be list worthy. I mean I loved Van Helsing but it isn't better than anything on my list IMO. Same went for a lot of other movies I have seen recently.

comments:
poeman - I like most of the movies on your list - but haven't seen all of them yet.
cg124 - Love that you got Donnie Darko and The Crow on yours :)
Mat - I don't really watch many classics but if I ever feel the urge I know no where to look ;)
TyRoss - Great taste - especially Moulin Rouge and Monty Python
Peter - Love the movies on your list..well the ones I've seen (most of them)
Tony_samo - other than ghost I really enjoy the movies on your list
Doomsday - lots of boys-movies on yours but I like them (especially Indiana Jones)
sniktawt - I like your list... haven't seen clerks yet but I generally like KS movies
Frizzo the Clown - don't know all of the movies on yours but the one that I do know are ace
Necross - I love the movies on your list and quite a few of them would be on my 21-30 list ...The Blair Witch Project scared me *****less

Speaking of movies late are kind of older. Anyone ever see the movie the Labrynith thats on my list? I loved that movie as a kid and I still do now, I remember me and my friends wasting a 1 hour and a half of study hall just quoting the movie.
"Come on in and meet the Mrs."
"What babe?"
"Babe with the power"
"What power"
"Voodoo"
"You do"
"Who do"
Sorry.....gotta stop that.....oh one more
"Ambrocious! Ambrocious come here!"
Necross- You sure do like the blockbusters! If you really liked Lost in Translation, you should watch some of Federico Fellini's work. It's not my favorite, but you should like it.
bloomluver- Typical list until I see The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert... heh, I'm not a big fan, but it's different. Have you tried any of Cronenberg's work? eXiStenz, Spider, Crash...
You Matrix fans should check his stuff out if you haven't. Oh, and watch Dark City... it's ten times better than The Matrix, I assure you.
