Change DVD player region

I read online that you can change the region of your DVD player just by typing a code into your remote. Has anyone else heard anyhting about this?

It depends on which player you own. There are tons of region-free sites on the net. Try entering your DVD model in Google along with the words "region free".

Yes I've done it with all my DVD players, it's not hard to do either

What brand and model is your DVD player ?

I have a Panasonic SC-HT800V and a Polaroid DVC-2000 *sigh* (yes I know polaroid was probably a bad pick...but it was cheap)

Not sure but it seems like the Panasonic DVD player that you have can not be hacked just by entering nubers. You need special remote or programmer.

Once you do one of these hacks does it never come off your dvd player, and could it mess it up.

Once you have made it region free you can make it back as it was useing the same hack only its not necessary.
If you use a wrong hack it could mess it up (rearely but it can happen), so always use the correct one.
