Anyone think that this Daredevil spinoff will be any good?

I'm just glad the people who did Daredevil aren't involved with it, but it's still the same studio, and that spells trouble.

I honestly can't say I think it will be a good movie, but I guess I should just have a wait and see attitude towards it.

For one thing I liked Daredevil, and I think that a lot more people will like Daredevil too after they release the Directors Cut. How can anyone compare Electra to Catwoman? Is it just because they're both women, because that's all anyone is going on right now? We know that Catwoman sucks because of all the changes, but Electra seems to be on the right track to me.

Electra died in the comics, so this movie makes perfect sence. I think it will be good.

i'm not that interessted in this movie. and i won't judge it yet. i just don't know why they don't go for a DD sequel?? i read an article which says that DD2 is not planed. why? this character is popular and has a lot potential, with the right director (maybe Guilermo del Toro) and writer (Goyer or Smith) it could be better than the first one. though i liked the first movie. oh and i don't care about affleck...but its a waste that they make crap like catwoman but won't do DD2...i know Catwoman is not marvel

If you goto the Special Features section on Disc 1 of the DD DVD and then goto Audio Commentary, it has the menu and behind it is a picture of the scene where he finds her necklace I think it was on the rooftop.

The picture has Elektra standing in the background on a rooftop opposite Matt, half her head is cut off from the picture but you can see it is her.

im not sure how some ppl could like Batman Forever, and not like DD or Hellboy. as for DD, the characters were captured very close to the comic. i give plenty of reasons y DD was good, but dont think alot of ppl can explain y it "sucked".

i dont think Jen Garner was right for Elektra in DD or will be in her own feature. but....i have read some interviews with her and she is so determined to surpass her perfomance in DD that its very believable she will.

the only prob i have with DD was the casting. but they still pulled it off, and i enjoy watching that movie to this day.

as for the first Punisher....now there is a stinker. i havent seen the new one.....but im pretty sure that i didnt like the old. Dolph trying to play a man who is relatively smart is a recipe for disaster in anything.

and Catwoman.....lol.....wasnt she a thief in the comic? sorry....this movie wreaks of pure cat ****. read the review over at AICN. hissing at dogs...lol.....gorging herself on tuna....lol. so far....IMO.....the story sux.....the characters suk......the wardrobe really sux. maybe if these guys would have read atleast one catwoman comic in thier entire life....they would know how to make a movie of it.

problem is....DC doesnt give a rats ass what a studio does with thier characters. either that....or they sold too much and have no power.

Just seen 13 going on 30 and I have to say she is amazing.If she Can take a recycled idea from "BIG" and make it fresh she can make the female Superhero fresh as well.
The next Julia Roberts or Sandra Bullock for sure (i.e-"America's Sweetheart")

Elektra has been a comic book character for Marvel since Daredevil # 168 FROM 1983.
She was created by comic genius Frank Miller and was part of one of the greatest Arcs in comics where she died at the hands of bullseye.A bit like she did in the movie.Read those comics you'll appreciate the movie a bit more.She was hugely popular.
Her death was short lived as she was resurrected.No one stays dead in comics , except maybe Gwen Stacy and Bucky.lol.

Like I said before , this movie will be a big surprise hit.
Bowman seems to have his pulse on gritty films and TV shows , This will be pretty damn good.

This footage looks sweet! It even sounds like she may be working on a slight Greek accent. Shouldn't be hard considering all the accent training she gets on Alias. I'm now looking forward to this film. I hope it hits all the right emotional moments that this character must go through as an assassin. Stamp is perfect for Stick.

I'm kind of confused by your statement. Isn't Elektra's hair color black in the comics? In order for "proper characterization," wouldn't Jennifer Garner's hair must also be black? Thomas Jane dyed his hair black for Punisher. Or are you saying that, since Elektra's hair was brunette in the DareDevil movie, they should just keep it brunette in the Elecktra movie so that it remains consistent? :confused:

Jennifer Garner's been plugging "Suddenly 30" (or "13 going on 30" as it was released everywhere else) to the Aussie press, and mentioned "Elektra".

Garner told The Herald Sun that although Ben Affleck makes a cameo in the film, reprising his role as Daredevil, he's hardly in the film - and she missed him. "I did miss him," she admits. "I missed his advice. I could hide behind him on Daredevil, and I suddenly didn't have anyone there."

Elektra is scheduled for a January 2005 release and her action-heavy background suggests she'll pull it off with aplomb.

"To take a character from a comic book and make it real is really challenging," says Garner. "Making her story keep going in a way that is truthful and interesting is what made the idea of doing a sequel appealing."

And how does she feel about squeezing into those tight leather outfits again? "That's always a bummer," she giggles, "but that's just part of being a girl."

IESB also talked to Garner, who talked a little more about "Elektra".

“The rest of the shoot went really well,” Garner said. “We had a few more big fights. We shot all the big finale stuff. It continued to be rough and tumble and really fun.”

Garner went on to detail some of the intense fight scenes, showing off some remaining scratches on her hands. “They were the toughest fights I’ve ever done. I fought five guys with a bo stick, five ninjas. That was pretty intense. And I had a fight with my sais against two kitanas. I kept getting bonked and there was some bloodshed there. That was pretty intense as well.”

Now working on the fourth season of Alias, Garner is still surprised to be the action hero. “If you’d ever told me that I would be shooting a fight scene, and that I would be like, ‘Yeah, you know, I need to go shoulder to shoulder…’ if you’d ever told me that I would know what that was about ever at all, I wouldn’t have believed you.”

The cameo isn't of DareDevil it's of Mat Murdock or it was last I knew. But yeah he should do a DD2 coz I actually liked DD it wasn't great but I think it's possibly his best ever movie (shows how much I like his other movies doesn't it)

I saw some images of this spin off movie on The Day After Tomarrow VHS and it had a very good look to it. Its not quite like dardevil for they have a very epic oriental look to it. It actually looked better then dardevil. It covers her working for ninja assassins .I think i saw a glimpse of the King Pin in the trailer. Jennifer Garner and Micheal Clarke Duncan were the best things involved with DareDevil. So i say it will be a better film then D.D. I just can't say it will be big in the box office.

i have high expectations for this movie. Rob Bowman is the director and I like pretty much everything he's done so far, from his work on the X-Files to Reign of Fire. All the pics posted look very good but I haven't seen the teaser, I don't have Quicktime.

After watching that trailer, I'm a bit worried about where they are taking her character. One glimpse of Stick? A lot of this little girl that I've never even heard of in any interviews or pictures?
