I was watching Solaris, and was following it pretty well until the last 20 minutes, up to when they found Snow's body. I don't understand how Snow or Kelvin were copies. If someone can explain the film to me accurately, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.

i've seen solaris, cant remember how that happened though, but it made sence when i watched it.

the movie was ok but not worth borrowing again to tell you that info. sorry. try and check out the Solaris Transcript (http://www.dailyscript.com/scripts/solaris_script.html), you might find your answers there.

This movie looked and felt like 2001, minus HAL. I think some of the music near the end was actually ripped from 2001. kinda ticked me off. and btw, 2001 ruled, Solaris just kinda dull.

I'd have to be pretty drunk to even consider watching this pile.

Are we talkin' about the remake?

Terrific film if so. Try renting the DVD or something. I remember they cleared the ending up rather well in the commentary.

I think:
The Snow copy came aboard before Kelvin ever got there. The real version tried killing the copy, but the copy killed the real on in self defense. He tells the woman and Kelvin that Solaris is pulling them in. They try to go home, the planet gives Kelvin a sort of vision. The ship is engulfed by the planet and Kelvin's friend's son appears to him and offers his hand. By accepting, he accepts his death and the ending takes place on a sort of heaven possibly. Or maybe he's living on a sort of replica of Earth on Solaris. I guess the ending's just up to interpretation.
