Face/Off writers Mike Werb and Michael Colleary are being linked to write the remake Pet Sematary, according to Variety.

Paramount has signed the screenwriting team to script a remake of the horror thriller, based on Stephen King's story of a family moving to a small Maine town with a pet cemetery and an Indian burial ground.

King also wrote the screenplay for Paramount's 1989 release, directed by Mary Lambert and starring Denise Crosby, Dale Midkiff and Fred Gwynne. That pic, which carried the tagline "sometimes dead is better," grossed more than $57 million domestically.

What are your views on this remake?

The first one wasnt that great I thought, but really will the remake be any better? And I hated Face/Off.

The original is not even that old.

It doesn't need to be remade. It was a great movie.

lol:applaud:

Pet Semetary does NOT need a remake. i think Directors and Movie Studios get bored and find great originals wanting to make a remake of it for the hell of it.

They look at everything from the 80s and go "wow, think of what we could do with CGI!", but never contemplate whether there's anything new they can do with the story or characters.

Yeah yeah, it doesn't need to be remade, blah blah blah, insert generic remake complaint here. It's not going to stop. Deal with it.

They'll never get a kid as good as Gage to do the magic that Miko Hughes did.
I say they should scrap the remake and make another sequel.

I have totally turned a corner on remakes. Why the hell not. It's true a lot of ignoramuses have never and will never see the originals, so ... what the f***.

Pet Sematary had some great moments ("I played with mommy ... not I'm going to play with youuuuuu") but it's not exactly The Exorcist.

Miko Hughes rules in that movie, I don't think any other kid (except Boo) has freaked me out so much............ Daveigh Chase has a sort of freaky thing going after paying Samara Morgan in "The Ring" but she still doesn't compare to the character of Gage Creed

"First I play with Judd, then Mommy came, and I play with Mommy. We play Daddy! We had a awfully good time! Now, I want to play with YOU!!!"

Of course it's not The Exorcist............... Pet Sematary is a hell of a lot better than that
