not a very good list IMO, i understand that its just your personal favs., but it doesnt say much, it seems to just say you like flashy action, pop culture, main stream type films, that dont really seem to have much to offer. with the exception of the godfather of course

The thing is, I want to see Once Upon A Time in the West very badly. Theres films I still need to see which I'm sure will change the list a bit once I do see them. And Kill Bill is a modern classic. I just love it.

you kno tarantino likes to pay tribute, maybe he can reflect ona story dedicated to the west movie of leone. that movie was soo beautiful. It reminds me of a vintage movie tarantino can make. you know what bugs me even though charles bronson plays the hero as Harmonica eastwood passed up this role. just imagine eastwood as the hero and henry fonda as the ruthless villian... man

These threads are getting popular, aren't they?
It's a good list. I don't agree with the Matrix trilogy (I can understand the first one being on your list, but all of them?). I loved Kill Bill, but I don't think it deserves to be number one on a list.

I agree Kill Bill Vol. One was a masterpiece and Vol. 2 Was great but not fantastic , as a whole film I don't see it being # 1 either, but this is a personal list so to each his own.

No offense to you, but comments like this in general i HATE. Again, this is not towards you Rosncranz, i have been wanting to say this for a while. This comment i will make isn't really towards your commnt, its just something i usual notice from these boards and from in general......
Why is it that when someone likes newer movies, that maybe involve special effects and are mainstream, and they put these movies in say a TOP 25 LIST, why is it that everyone else assumes this person only likes these movies for the flash and general they don't know anything serious about or appriate film? Why is that? Why is it when someone likes these type of films (star wars, matrix, spiderman, x-men) "it doesn't say much about the films you view". Why can't someone who likes these sort of films have good taste?
I hate mostly all old movies! I can't stand them. I KNOW people (not users on these boards) who will say these OLD FILMS are their FAVORITES just to be looked at as a respectable and knowledgeable viewer who takes film seriously. I can't undertsand this. Films like the GOFATHER I LOVE...films like CITIZEN CANE I HATE! All these so called "Classics" many of them i can't stand. I think there horrible. Pulp Fiction i liked but to me it wasn't anything special IMO OF CORUSE. I dislike kubrick, hitchcock, and i hate all of the old actors. I thought there work wasn't good at all. Does my opinions make my dislikes horrible? Does my opinions make me not a serious person about film? or does it make me know nothing of good film? Because i can tell you i am very very serious about films. This will be my future career (working in films).
Again, this is just something that i have noticed for a long time. And i wanted to ask these questions.
I think i might make my own thread on this.
(again, no offense to you Rosncranz)

I can't really make a list of "ulitimate favorites" in a particular order, but many of my favorites are movies made at least 25 to 30 years ago, if not much, much older. Of course, I do like a lot of newer movies too.

Most of the great films came from the 70's IMO.
Is that considered old ?;)

Because Lordofkings said he hated old movies and I was wondering if he meant 1970's films as being old.

Ah. I'm 25, and I've come across a lot of people (considerably younger than I) who have unequivocably stated that the 70's were the "old days." Hell, anything earlier than 1990 is probably old to them.

I like 70's movies and I am 23. Taxi Driver is #4 in my top 5.

I HATE old movies, i mean movies that were made in the 30's-early 50's, or early 60's.
I never said anything was wrong with old movies, everyone has their own viewing opinions. I was just stating what i have noticed, on how everyone seems to believe you can't really be into films unless you like kubrick or hitchcock

Equilibrium and Memento are films that deserve so much more than they got.
