is aliens good ive never seen it yet ive seen alien and loved it and alien 3 and didnt like it much
i know its hard to believe ive never seen it but oh well im more of a strait horror fan
some think the aliens movies are horror but i think there more sci fi thats just me though

Ok, guys - special edition vs theatrical release?

Personally, i prefer the theatrical verison. While I love the stuff about Ripleys's daughter in the SE, I don't care much for seeing the people on LV426 before the marines land. Felt it created much more suspense not knowing for sure what had happened.

it was ok i liked alien way more
aliens has a great cast but man i couldnt stand that mexican girl i was glad when she got killed
but it was better than 3 way better
just need to see part 4 now

I've only seen Alien and Aliens, i've never seen 3 or 4. I liked the ones i saw. I want to buy the Alien Quadrillogy, should I buy it?

Most people find Alien 3 and in particular 4 a major let down, but they're still entertaining - just no where near the originals.

Still if you loved the first two movies i'd still buy the dvd set as you get 2 versions of all the films. This is especially good for Aliens which has two great alternate versiosn. Alien 3 has an additional 30 minutes which while not turning into a classic, at least gives you some insight into what might have been.

Plus heaps of behind the scenes extras.

Having said all that, the set is quite expensive. I got mine for 30% off, so I'm quite happy with my purchase. In the end it cost me to buy all 4 movies only slightly more than it would to buy one of the LOTR EEs.
