Whoopsy, made a mistake on my list. I accidently wrote Office Space down as my #23......when in my fact my #23 would have to be ALMOST FAMOUS

Hmm, strange mistake to make, but you're forgiven as Almost Famous is a great flick. Quite touching and very well performed. I have to say, while I may not love these movies as much as you do, I still very much enjoy them all. Nice list.

i wanted to do the same but im leveling away from it. maybe ill do it for my pasttime. make movies for fun.

remember all you have to be is creative. look at tarantino a movie store clerk wrote a simple script and made it work in reservoir dogs. a simple classic example. what was the budget for that?

I will comment on the movies I have seen on that list. Just my opinions though.

Dazed and Confused - One of my personal favorite movies EVER!

Almost Famous - I got really bored watching this movie and never even finished it.

Full Metal Jacket - Not near as good as expected.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off - Another one of my favorite movies ever! "Bueller, Bueller, Bueller"...

Friday - Not bad, this movie actually made me laugh quite hard!

Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back - AWSOME stuff, I love Star Wars so much.

Edward Scissorhands - Very good movie, I have seen it so many times and never seem to get tired of it.

The Matrix - One of my most hated movies, but its fun to watch when your drunk but thats it.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail - One of the funniest movies ever made perhaps? I love it!

Lord of the Rings - Its ok, but its realllllly long and I get ancy.

I am going to one at a time post my top ten films, with a bit of commentary. I don't mean to hijack your thread, Brock, but I don't want to make ANOTHER top whatever list, and since yours was the first i noticed, i'll give props to you. I just need to go find some props, and they're all yours.

drum roll please:

Number Ten is,

Blade Runner.
This film didn't do that well at the box office or in its first video release, but extensive re-editing and the insertion of some deleted footage completely turned this film around. I can remember seeing the original cut on TV with the voiceover, and it was just OK. The director's edition blew me away. One of the best soundtracks ever, probably the very best detective movies ever. Cuz at the end of the day, Deckard really is just another detective in 'a city that never sleeps.' And here's a hint for what's coming: This is not the first Ridley Scott film on my list. ;)

P.S. To Brock...you really loved Kill Bill huh? LOL, great.

25. Dazed and Confused - IMO, a good movie, but not great.
24. The Night of the Hunter
23. Unforgiven
22. Almost Famous- Terrific film, but haven't watched it in a year or two, and I own it...need to watch it again.
21. Fargo
20. Full Metal Jacket - I've watched scenes, and seriously, this looks to be one freaking disturbing film. The scenes that I've seen were just...whoa.
19. The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
18. Ferris Bueller's Day off - Yes yes yes...not the best John Hughes flick, (that goes to the amazingly brilliant The Breakfast Club...) but comes in at a good second.
17. Friday
16. The Godfather part II
15. Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back - Terrific. Terrific. Oh...and terrific.
14. Platoon
13. Edward Scissorhands - A beautiful, dazzling fable that I absolutely love. My favorite Tim Burton film, (which is hard to accomplish, as I loved Sleepy Hollow and Batman Returns a LOT)
12. The Matrix - Original and dazzling. What more needs to be said?
11. The Godfather
10. Dr. Strangelove
9. Goodfellas
8. Ed Wood
7. Reservoir Dogs
6. The Big Lebowski
5. Monty Python and the Holy Grail - One of the classic comedies of all time.
4. A Clockwork Orange
3. Pulp Fiction - Unfortunately, I have not seen any Tarantino films save for Kill Bill, but when summer comes, I plan to watch all of his, Chaplin's, Kubricks, and Hitchcocks. All I can say is, god bless Netflix.
2. The Lord of the Rings - My favorite movie of all time, and one of the greatest motion pictures ever created.
1. Kill Bill - Absolutely original, absolutely hilarious, and absolutely spot on. One of the best times I have ever had at a cinema. Brilliant.

And presenting Number Nine:

Titus

The best Shakespeare adaptation ever, hands down, Julie Taymor's epic stars Anthony Hopkins and Jessica Lange, with a strong supporting cast. There are images in this film that will never leave you. It's wonderful. Even if you don't like Bill Shakespeare, you should check this one out.

I wouldn't have many of your choices Brock on my list, but as always, every one has their own opinions.

KILL BILL was not that great IMO. Nothing compared to LOTR and is no way better then it. It didn't have character development for many of the characters (i have only seen part 1). The fountain of blood shooting from heads and arms WAS STUPID AND HORRIBLE IMO. It just took away from the film. The changes in the editing style and visual style i dislike greatly (i am a firm believer in that a film should have a certain and persistant visual and editing style throughout the film) I disliked the CARTOON MORE THEN ANYTHING. COMPLETELY OUT OF PLACE AND DIDN'T FIT. TOOK ME OUT OF THE STORY COMPLETELY...

ill put my list up when i have time

It was supposed to look like that. QT probably could have gotten better blood effects but the fake looking blood effects are referencing old samurai movies with very low budgets.

And now for number eight on zamphir's top twenty five, which is really in Brock's thread, but he said he doesn't care cuz he' cool like that:

Number eight is Schindler's List:

Someone said they didn't like this film because it "prettified" the Holocaust. I didn't see anything pretty about it. That's just me. Possibly one of the most important films ever made. Seeing as there are people out there who think these events never took place. A must see film for everybody. Liam Neeson is incredible, but he's almost upstaged by Ralph Fiennes (i will NOT say his name like its spelled 'fines', no never). And Ben Kingsley gives the performance of a lifetime as the quiet, courteous Stern. wonderful film, go buy it now.
