Very few movies ever get NC-17, so I don't really see what your problem is....unless you're THAT eager to have your kids see rubbish like Showgirls.

And notice how violence alone will almost never result in NC-17. It seems to be sex that concerns the censors more than blood and guts.

That rating is there to protect kids not only from parents who don't check out movies before letting their kids watch them but also from the sickos who would get off on making kids watch it.

Thats a really good point. I never thought of the pyschos that would take kids to see those, but still I havent seen a NC 17 get a wide release in a long time.
