Great movie, but the ending is a let down. Two views on the ending: either it was way too predictable, or it was went to be predictable and this was suppose to heighten the suspense to the film knowing that no matter what they do a certain person is doomed. I personally felt it didn't achieve that.
Did anyone else think it was strange that the case of brutal serial killer is being handled not by the FBI, but by 2 ploice detectives - one just a week away from retirement and the other who only just became a detective?

I thought the movie was amazing. Yes, I believe everyone saw the ending coming because their was still two murders left and he was taking these people to the middle of nowhere. Then there was the whole pregnancy sub-plot which had to lead somewhere. Anyway, about the FBI thing I really have to answer to it other then it is just a movie. I mean c'mon look at The French Connection and ask the same question: why isn't the FBI handling this case. We are talking about the smuggling of cocaine into the country. In Dirty Harry we have a person killing random people for money. Why didn't the FBI handle the case? Its just a movie.

Actually, The French Connection is based on a true story, and in reality it was a couple of undercover cops who handled the investigation. I think you put too much faith in the FBI. "Se7en" takes place in an anonymous, bleak city, where nobody seems to want to help each other, so it makes sense that the FBI wouldn't want to mess with the case in that kind of enviroment. Besides, after the second murder was discovered, the mayor publically announced that the cops were going to handle the case quickly and thoroughly - he wants his own police corps to handle things, nut the feds.

"The cocksucker's alive!"
It scared me too. How anybody looking like that can be alive is frightening.

This movie freaked me out. For some reason I felt really sick while watching this and I couldn't finish it. It's all just too creepy and gross. I know the ending is suppose to be great, so I must watch and finish it soon.

Yeah, you should. Admittedly it is sort of gross, but in reality they don't show a lot, it's just the atmosphere and your mind running wild that gets to you.

Agreed. Still one of the most horrifying things I've ever scene in a movie, because you can actually picture Spacey's character doing that.

Don't tell me, tell Inferno. He was the one asking the FBI question.
