I haven't seen a bad project get so much attention and publicity since Gigli... This is really just playing off the public's interest in disasters, but some how because they're NBC they get away with it...

Wow... Was this ever bad. it seems everyone always makes to worst decison possible. That, and some of the 'special' effects were so poorly done, it was kinda funny. I think I'll skip part 2.

I was thinking the same thing...they always try to outrun the falling object instead of going towards or to the left or right of it.

The train was being perfectly followed by the quake even through a turn, what crap is that.... The miniatures used on the bridge were plastic and I think a few where hot wheels.

I said the same thing to my dad last night when we watched it, I said if I was on that bike I would have been doing a zig zag pattern or something no way would I ride directly in front of it.
Anyway the movie got off to a good start, I cant wait to see how it all ends.

I caught part of it durring CSI commercials. The problem I have is that haven't Nuclear devices actually cause small sizemic events during Russian undergroud tests? Wouldn't a Nuc just trigger the event. I may not be a geologist but did take a few courses in Univeristy. I think that whole fusing of the fault thing was just bad and wishful script writing.

I also love how the evacuation site was directly over a fault line.

Well if it ever was god forbid a 10.5 earthquake a new island forming were ever the earthquake hits is pretty accurate. The weird thing about it for me was that some scientists accually predits that this will happen to the west coast sometime in the future.

This is coming from a guy who's signature has a link to TODD'S OFFICIAL SITE, a site that pays homage to Waterworld. So how big was the the stick needed to hold the huge piece of crap that movie was. No seriously his site calls for an Extended Footage Waterworld Dvd petition. Oy. I just don't see that one hitting the shelves any time soon.

I am so bummed, I saw Sunday's show but was stuck taping last nights conclusion so the wife could watch The Swan and CSI:Miami. And as you call well imagine the vcr chewed up the tape instead of recording. Arggggggg!

Stuff I just LOVED about this movie:
I love, as someone already said, how they put the evacuation site right over a fault line. I mean, the scientists would know where the fault lines were, so why the HELL would they put the site there??
I love how, in part 1, the fault line is DIRECTLY below the train tracks, and as the train is moving, the fault line is cracking open in a PERFECT, STRAIGHT LINE until finally, the train falls into the Earth. But the best part is how the fault line stopped cracking open right after it "swallowed" the train. I was half expecting the ground to magically close up, as if it was a monster that had eaten the train.
I love how in the very end, as the ground is just sort of falling away from the final 10.5 earthquake, and as Kim Delaney and her scientist friend are trying to run away, he falls down. Oh no! They're going to fall into the Earth when the ground beneath them falls! But wait! The ground has stopped falling right in front of them, so as to make a nice pretty beach.
But possibly my favorite part is how, directly after the ground stops falling at the very end, all the people who were frantically running away stop, look back, and when they realize the earthquake stopped, walk back to check it out. As music plays, people look out on the water (what was formerly part of Los Angeles) and they hug, glad to be alive. I hate to interrupt this tender moment, BUT THE EARTHQUAKE COULD COME BACK AT ANY MOMENT!! YOU'RE OBVIOUSLY STANDING OVER A FAULT LINE, SO RUN THE **** AWAY!
