the mario bros. movie didn't really have anything to do with the game.after that big ass flop, you'd think no one would try again, but now i hear talk of a metroid prime flick,do you think video game movies are good ideas:eek:

no i dont because you cant incorporate all the stuff that happens in the game into a two hour movie. Your going to miss a lot of the action and storytelling that goes into the game. I think video games should be left video games and not turned into movies.

Hmm, well how can you explain book adaptations?
People convert novels - even series of novels - into movies and they can turn out without a hitch, justifying the origins as best a 2 hour movie can.

Concerning video games....they just haven't done it convincingly enough yet.

Thats true, they were able to do it right with Lord of the Rings. Maybe if they got a good script and the right director they could pull it off.

i want to see them make final fantasy 7 into a movie...not like the final fantasy movie, one based on the story line...it would be cool....and long. very long:)

Yeah, thats what I was just going to say. There are several FF games that I think would be great movies.

I dont know. Maybe a trilogy on Final Fantasy 7 alone could work.

The problem is people see video game and they make a movie that concentrates of explosions, action, unlikely stunts, and FX. The story is pretty much ignored. One day someone will make a decent video game movie and show how it can be done. (Then you'll get endless other games turned into films, just like is currently happening with comic book movies).

the problem that has plauged game movies is they keep making films of plotless games, why try to get a plot out of Super Mario Brothers and Double Dragon when you could do somthing like Metal Gear or Max Payne that has tons of story in them.
