This is a kind of technical question. I recently purchased GTA:VC and the game will play fine for a few minutes and then all of a sudden it will freeze and say "loading" and sometimes it loads right away and sometimes it will freeze for almost 30 minutes and then just kick in. Anyone else have this problem? I thought it might be the ps2 but all my other games play fine.

Any ideas or is it just a bad cd? Or does the game just do this?

Was your last save at the Ice Cream Factory?

Thats the thing. I already beat the game on PC and was told by many people that the game was the sameon pc as ps2 so I just got it so I could come home, drive around and kill people while evading cops. I have only saved once and that was at the hotel at the beginning of the game.

The disc is probably screwd

Yes sounds like there might be something wrong with the disc.

I had a similar problem with GTA3 a few months back, I would be able to play for a few minutes but then a message would be displayed at the bottoms saying "There was a problem reading the GTA3 disk". Strangely that's when I decided to get rid of my PS2 for an XBOX which ended up with me owning GTA3 once again

are you changeing islands cause it loads then,....but if it is doing it for 30 minutes at a time then i would get a replacement copy of the game

Naa, havent even gotten access to another island yet. I have yet to complete one mission. I just go around killing and evading cops. I am taking it back to the store this weekend and getting my money back and getting something else instead. The controls suck on PS2 compared to PC. I will just reload it onto my pc later I guess. Thanks for the info guys/gals.

Yup, my friend used to have problems with his PS2 and games, he cleaned it and I think now they work perfectly

I cleaned the lens of my PS2 to fix the same problem I had with GTA 3 and Vice City.

My gta disc is so scratched - sometimes the road disapears.

Maybe youshuld go back to the game store and ask them for help or exchange for a better disk...I think they do that

Well it was a used game from Rhino Games. All their games come with a lifetime warranty so if they dont have another copy I can get another game of the same value. The disk looks fine though and after playing several other games, it is still the only one to freeze up so it is going back tomorrow.
