Winslet to do Potter 'for kids'

Kate Winslet could play the part of a young French wizard in the fourth Harry Potter movie.

The 29-year-old mum-of-two was asked to take on the role of Fleur Delacour and husband Sam Mendes is urging her to accept.

He said: "Some weeks ago Kate had a meeting with director Mike Newell and some producers of the Harry Potter movies.

"She was asked to have an important role as a young French Wizard or something like that in the fourth film.

"She is still thinking about it. I told her to do it just for the kids. Mia and Joe will thank her in the future."

Kate wouldn't be the first actress to take on a Harry Potter role for the sake of her children.

Emma Thmpson, 44, said she jumped at the chance to play Professor Sybil Trelawney in the third movie The Prisoner Of Azkaban s she could impress her four-year-old daughter Gaia.

Meh, doesn't matter, I am sure whoever gets to be her will be great. I mean everyone they haved picked to play the roles has been perfect so far. I mean I actually like Snape in the movies he is so bad ass. I hate him in the books for obvious reasons. lol, they just can't show all his evil in the moveis, anyway I am babbling. I would like an unknown as well, the only one I am worried about anyway, is Lupin, I have seen pics of him.....doesn't look right.

Wasn't there a quote from the director a few months ago saying he'd spent his past few weeks looking for French school girls and tall women. I think there still going for French authenticity.

Kate Winslett could be a perfect Tonks for the 5th movie. I've seen her in the trailer for Eternal Sunshine and she's got different wacky hair colors and it looks good on her. She's English, and while maybe being a few years older then Tonks in the books, she still looks young enough to play her.

i think kate could be a good Tonks....the fact that she was even RUMORED to be Fluer is just ridiculous, context clues people! Fleur is a teenager with silver blonde hair and ridiculous good looks.....not that Kate isn't pretty, but she isn't ravishing and she is not a teenager. (and she isn't french)

kate winslet isnt a good fleur imo..blonde is needed, keira could become blonde, elisha cuthbert is what i picture fleur to look like imo but she aint french so who knows an unknown could be the best choice..

I think Elisha would make a good fleur. She looks the part, and can act as haughty as I imagine fleur to be. And she could probably work on her french accent.

You know who would look like Fleur I dont know if she could play the character but looks the part....the girl form a little princess. I imagine she would be just about the right age by now and well put bleach blond hair on her, she could have the beautiful yet get outta my way look lol although after seeing her in air force one i dont know if she could play it all that well but her face, slightly thinner was kinda what I pictured Fleur to look like.
