Not sure who's directing, I can't remember without looking it up (which I can't be bothered to do) but there is definitely a director on board and they have started some filming. Though only with doubles for the actors at the moment.

There's an article up at the CS! homepage.

They are only filming scenery, ie for blue screen moment, and extreme wide shots so the trio's doubles can be filmed

Yeah, of course they do, Kloves has been working on it since like may of last year.........plus they would need it for preproduction and story-boarding and all that stuff, so it would have been pretty much finalised, or at least very close to last draft by like sep at the latest....

Empire Online is reporting that the release date for the fourth movie is July 30th, 2005. I hope so cause thats only a year after POA!! But I think it is far too eairly to speculate on that

if it is the case that the Goblet of Fire's release date is 30th July 2005, instead of the rumoured date of November, 2005, I wonder how long the film is going to be, because if they can film it from Apr til say this time nxt year, maybe sooner, and sort out all the post-production, the script may not be as long as most people are anticipating

If it is right, I think filming will be at longest April - December, I really really hope that it isnt cut up too much, or that there is alot of film to be done and quick, but you never know, thats why i wanted it to be nov, but just the anticipation makes june feel good, but id prefer nov and a longer better movie.

i think pushing for a year in between could mean the script is far to short...IMO, GOF absolutely MUST be the longest of the films......i dont think it could be any good otherwise.....there is just too much in the book......but i think its great well get another one next year already :)

I'm not convinced Newell can follow in the footsteps Alfonso has already laid...Goblet of Fire is a story filled with incredible action sequences and plot twists. I hope "Four Weddings and a Funeral" guy can make this a worthwhile affair.

I think, for the Goblet of Fire to live up to the book and people's expectations of the film, the film has to be at least 3 hours long to 3 1/2 hours at the most, roughly same length as LOTR: Return of the King, because there is so much in GOF that compressing it to within 3 hours wouldn't do justice to the book.

im worried about GOF, it truly will require quite a bit of good CGI, and i hope they dont mess this up.

ex: dragons especially

With the technology they've got 2day, I shouldn't think they'll mess it up, but then again, people said that about Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions, and look what happened to them

I'm not worried about the CGI. It's not exactly like they're lacking in funds. Although the shape of the dragon is a little worrisome, but I'm sure it will look real enough. I am much more worried about the plot than the CGI.

I think that after 3 films, Steve Kloves will have the plot of the book down on the script, he'll have no choice, especially if he's had JK Rowling checking up on him with how the script is going because i don't think she'll want him to ruin what could be the best film of the lot to date.
