I was just over at The Digital Bits, and I dunno. This isn't really news, but apparently George Lucas once even toyed with the idea of turning Howard the Duck...yes, that's right, Howard the Duck...into an all-CGI creation when the movie is finally released on DVD. www.thedigitalbits.com has it over in My Two Cents...what a disturbing thought.

Can Lucas leave anything alone? Surely you Lucas supporters don't have a real good reason Lucas is justified in turning Howard the Duck into the next generation Jar Jar Binks?

The man is a genius and an idiot rolled into one... that's all I have to say on the matter.

I have to say, I love the Star Wars movies. All of them. I just don't understand what his fascination is with cgi on everything he does or has done. I like Howard the way it was...totally fun crap!!

Lucas is an idiot IMO....He seems to have this need to **** with everything he does.

Howard the Duck in a vat of boiling acid would be nice to see.

I mean, come on. When he seriously sits and thinks, "Man, I think Howard the Duck could be a huge hit if I redid the duck in CGI," then there must be something misaligned in his brain. That's not normal.

The man has lost it. I think its time for ol' Georgie to retire.

THE DIGITAL BITS WAS ONLY JOKING

And George was only joking too. Anyone even hear the thing. He says something like "Howard the Duck: The Special Edition. They hated it the first time, they'll loathe it the second!"

I don't even get this. Where is this from? Does George even have time to hang around with Robin Williams?

I dont care if he was joking or not. He's a horrible director, but a Marketing Genious.

he essentially will retire after episode 3. cause other than star wars, theres really not much else to his career. hes lost his talent, so there will be no more american graffitis anymore. sure theres indy, but im starting to really doubt the possibility of a fourth ever happening anymore. and besides, lucas isnt relly needed there anyways, as long as theres speilberg.

No, they were joking the first time it was mentioned. The second time it was mentioned, it was because they had found an interview clip in which Lucas actually said he might do it.

Still, it's obvious that they're more amused by the clip than they are angered by it and it would seem by theit word choice that they don't think Lucas would go through with it.

Anyway, would anyone even care? This is supposed to be one the worst films ever made.

someone said it before lucas is a genious and an idiot all rolled into one, star wars is the best trilogy of all time (with the exception of the godfather) lotr isnt as good IMO. i have a feeling episode 3 is going to be great, but like everyone is saying why is he always messing with his ****? i mean he messed up the original trilogy, the new trilogy (although i still liked them a lot) is littered with overbearing and pointless effects, i mean they are like the matrix movies only good...

Well, if he messed with them and let the original ones stay around, there wouldn't be a problem...

Howard the Duck is one of the greatest 1am movies of all time. Its pointless and weird - what more could you want?

Don't mess with the classics.
