I was watching Ebert and Roeper at the movies this morning on WB and they reviewed Mel Gibson's "The Passion Of Christ" and gave it 2 Very Strong Thumbs Up and Ebert also commented that he didn't think it was Anti-Semitic, that it was a very powerful Sweeping Epic and one of a kind for this year with fantastic cinematography and great acting... No comments on the possibility of a Best Picture Oscar next year but he did say this was Mel Gibson's absolute best yet.. Anyone catch it??:applaud:

Well, considering how many LOTR threads thwre are, I don't see this one being a big deal.. Here are some quotes from Both Ebert and Roeper on Passion of Christ:

Some tidbits of the Ebert & Roeper review on Passion of the Christ

Roeper - THUMBS UP

- Gibson is a master storyteller
- Opens Ash Wednesday
- Monica Belluci plays Mary Magdelene
- Torture and Excution of Jesus in bloody detail
- Romans are portrayed as vicous
- Gibson does a great job with the final product
- Cast does a great job - Whole movie is good epic with great acting and visuals

Ebert - THUMBS UP - he almost seemed to be giving a sermon - very passionate with the religous talk.

- Most discussed movie of the year
- Deeply moving
- Incredible detail of last 12 hours
- Movie is incredibly real feeling
- Extremely bloody movie
- Focus on price Christ paid for this to happen - to save humans
- Follows details of the bible
- Christ wanted this ending to happen - his death
- Movie isn't Anti-Sematic - The jews weren't the bad guys
