yeah it would. it would also be cool to somehow play mindtricks on the audience, like how it does in the game.

yea this movie would be really cool, but of course whenever they take a game and make into a movie they screw it up, just look at HOUSE of the Dead,
Mortal Kombat
Resident evil
Mario Brothers
double dragon
there are a few more they messed up,
well i wouldnt say the 1st mortal kombat was that bad, but Mortal kombat 2 sucked

Mortal Kombat
Resident evil
Mario Brothers
were all good movies, MK's sequel....well, wasn't.
Eternal Darkness is a good game and I hope the movie isn't gonna turn out bad.

yeah on the game you have a Sanity Meter, if the meter gets low, you start to become insane. as you do, things will happen to you(your character) such as:
"The walls will bleed.
You'll hear lots of screams, and whispers, and a lot of
latin, and basically just some really f8cked up stuff, and
if you're playing at night, by yourself, it can get you
wondering if it was just your game that made that
noise...
The camera will tilt about 10 degrees or so.
Strange music will play.
You'll hear strange quotes, from people such as Edgar Allan
Poe.
Your character will talk to themself, and say things such
as "THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!"
You'll walk into a room, and all of a sudden your head will
fall off, then your arm, then the other.
Your head will fall off, and you can pick it up. If you do,
it will begin reciting a famous passage from Shakespeare's
Hamlet ("To be or not to be, that is the question, etc...").
Statues will watch you.
Art will change from peaceful scenes, to pictures of
hellish ungodly things.
You'll receive a phone call from your dead grandfather.
Your dead grandfather's ghost will visit you, saying some
strange stuff. Sometimes he's nice, but other times he's
being really evil.
Bugs will crawl across the screen.
Blood will drip from the ceiling.
You'll turn into a zombie, and be able to walk around as
it.
You'll go into a room, and you'll be walking around on the
ceiling.
You'll go into a room, severely damaged, and be attacked by
many zombies.
You'll open your inventory, only to find that you've lost
all of your items.
Your TV will appear to have changed video modes, but you
can hear yourself being attacked.
The word Mute will appear, as if someone has muted your TV,
and all noise will cease.
The game will "reset", and the quote from Edgar Allan Poe
will begin to play.
After you save your game, the game will change it's mind,
and say that it is deleting your game.
You'll walk into a room, and have many zombies surrounding
you, and the game will give you a message that it doesn't
detect a controller in port 1.
You'll enter a room, and the ground will be covered in
ammunition.
You'll see the word Volume will appear, and the volume bar
will decrease.
You'll appear to be walking in quicksand, and will sink
into the floor.
Your character will appear to have shrunk.
Your character will appear to have grown.
Your character will shoot at the screen.
While playing as Maximillian Roivas, you'll enter a room,
and end up in an insane asylum cell (foreshadowing anyone?).
In the bathroom, you'll see an image of Alex Roivas in a
tub filled with blood, accompanied by a blood curdling
scream.
You'll go into a room to find a man hanging from the
ceiling, and his eyes open white. He'll say evil things to you.
When you try to cast a spell, the top half of your
character will explode.
Books will fly across the library.
Two handguns will appear to be floating down the hall on
the 2nd floor of the mansion.
A poker will be poking the fireplace in the library.
You'll get Microsoft's infamous "Blue Screen Of Death".
The game will go to a screen that says "To be continued..."
"Coming soon:Eternal Darkness:Sanity's Redemption".
When you try to reload your weapon, you'll shoot yourself."
those are the mindtricks. but when it does happen, your game is fine and nothing is lost...

Really? How do you ignite this insanity meter?

once you get the Tome of Eternal Darkness, you get a Sanity Meter, Magick Meter, and Health Meter I believe. to keep your Sanity meter up, you gotta kill the zombies and/or use a magick spell.
I HIGHLY recommend that you get this game for GameCube. Well worth the money. if have any more questions, just PM me or post.

Woah I gotta get me a copy of this. I'm not sure what mind tricks it could play on you in a theatre though.

oh there can be mind tricks to do on the audience.
the picture can get blurry
distorted sound
words not moving with the actors mouth
picture can black out
it can show the begining credits of the film in the middle of the scene
just so much if you think about. but then yet the film itself wont make sense unless the viewer had played the game. i would so love to make this game into a movie once i go to film school and major in Cinemaphotography

It would be cool if the image just froze suddenly and the sound went a bit funny and faded out. Then the audience would be left staring at the screen for a few seconds and then it could do the old, hideous face suddenly fills up the screen along with an ear-piercing shriek.
That would be so funny to watch people leap out of their seats.

Yeah I think half-way through the movie it should show the credits, but then show the final half.
