I am , I mean come on he did a outstanding performance in the "Return of the King" the creditcs even thought he did a good job in acting. Sheesh they mine as well as just hand that trophy out to some guy in the super market who can act , does anyone here agree with me?

I wasn't ticked, but I was really dissapointed. If anyone in the that movie deserved the nod it was him.

This should be in the Oscar Discussion thread.

For once I agree with a LOTR fan.
Sean Astin ws incredible in ROTK , much better performance than McKellen's was in Felllowhip ,yet he got the nod for that one.
I do think it was an injustice but hey what can ya do.

Did they make "Please Consider" posters for Astin? I would have liked to see him nominated as well

I was annoyed! I think he deserves a nod even if he wouldn't get the award.

He did deserve a nomination. Things happen though. I guess the small group of individuals who decided on the nominations thought he wasn't as good as the others they picked.

i agree he should of got a nomination but it can't have everything , i think Best Picture and Best Director and other awards are enough

he definetely deserved at least a nomination. i also think andy serkis should get something for gollum. maybe a new category? best digital performance or something?

When he was carrying Frodo up to Mt. Doom, I wanted to get up and start chanting "Rudy! Rudy!"

I wasn't that ticked that he got the nom, though I do think he did a fine job.
