My friend has a couple of them(La Strada & 8 1/2) but there not subtitled, all in italian(i think)....are they worth watching for the great acting and storytelling or are they not worth watchin unless they have subtitles???
please let me know if its worth it.Thanks again :)

My suggestion is to download the translated script of La Strada (my favorite Fellini flick) onto your laptop, and watch the movie and read the translated script. Either that or buy the criterion edition.

La Strada, could possibly be viewed without subtitles.
8 1/2 demands subtitles, though. There is a lot of dialogue, and a lot of it is intellectual.
La Strada, could be watched and probably understood without subtitles, almost like a silent film, as Massina and Quinn give great physical performances, and the story is not hard to make out.
Either way, check your libraries(blockbuster is not likely to have many Fellini films) for these films, and other Fellini masterpieces like "Nights of Cabiria", "Amarcord", and "La Dolce Vita".
He is one of THE great directors...

not to say, that 8 1/2 isn't a very visual film, though. It is, but it is also a dialogue heavy film, perhaps one of the rare films that are both...

I agree.
Get the subtitles, if possible.
