And I'm hoping those are the only 10 movies you've seen... 'Bring it On'.... Rush Hour 2... oh god. Please, take the bullet train to a quick death now.

I'd put all three matrix movies over POTC and LOTR anyday, remember this is all based on opinions, maybe he enjoys different types of movies than you.

There is quite a difference in best and favorite. Strange BRew is one of my all-time favorite movies (Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas), but is it the best? No, not by a long-shot. The best films I ever seen would be Godfather, Cuckoo's Nest, Sierra Madre, Scarface, Goodfellas, Fight Club, Goldfinger, Shawshank Redemption, Taxi Driver, and Finding Nemo.

What exactly is the difference between best and favorites? To me if it is my favorite than IMO it is the best, i wouldnt like something more than anything else unless it was the best.

Best would be a very well put together movie. Great acting, great directing, great cinematography, great everything more or less. Some good examples are the ones that TonyMontana listed. Favorite is a movie that you just love to watch. It's stupid and crazy and funny, and that's why you love it. Some examples of that would be Old School, Dumb and Dumber, Zoolander, the Austin Powers movies, XXX, stuff of that nature. Not really a cinematic achievement, but greatly enjoyable nonetheless.

Some movies like Schindler's List are just so powerful and shocking that you almost don't want to see it again. Therefore it is not my favourite to watch but it is probably the best film I have ever seen. Glordreen asked us for our top 10 films of all time so I included both kinds of movies.

I don't think you can count the Three Colors trilogy as one film if you only pick two of them.

Exactly. I could watch Empire, Strange Brew, Xmas Vacation over and over again and not be sick of them. Movies like Schindler's List and Godfather and Once Upon a Time in America are great films that you couldn't really say, ":Hey, I just watched this a month ago, let's watch it again".
