How many of you have ever watched an entire trilogy / saga of films in a day and name the series?

In single days I've watched:

- LotR
- Matrix
- Original Star Wars
- BTTF
- Jurassic Park
- Indiana Jones
- Batman Saga
- Superman Saga

None - it took me three weeks to watch the star wars trilogy.

Back in 1998, I watched the first 8 Star Trek movies in a row. That measured up to approximately 16 hours of movies. I'm planning on watching all 10 in a row soon on DVD.

Otherwise, I've also watched The Godfather trilogy in one straight sitting, and I've done this several times with the original Star Wars trilogy.

Well done - If i was going to watch a franchise all in one go it wouldnt be any namby pamby trillogy i would go all out - all or nothing for me.

Im thinking I'll watch all 20 (21?) bond flicks in a row - (unless anyone knows of a larger franchise?) Whos with me? We could do it simultaneously and televise it over the net.

I actually discussed doing that with a friend a few years back. One of the largest cinemas in Denmark holds some kind of record, for having shown the first 19 Bond movies in one go. I decided to contact Guiness, to hear if they would be interested if me and a friend of mine would attempt to watch all 20 Bond movies and Never Say Never Again and Casino Royale in one go. They considered our proposal, and sent us some guidelines. For example, a 3 minute break would be allowed between every movie, and 15 minutes between every third movie. Fast-forwarding would not be allowed, and one had to wathc the end-credits as well. And we both needed to be checked by a doctor first :)
In the end, though, they decided it wasn't something they were particularly interested in :) - I probably would've fallen asleep during Live And Let Die anyway ;)

I've also considered watching all 5 seasons of Babylon 5 in a row, since it's such a grand continuous story. It would take just about 17 hours a day for 5 days to do it :)

The Bond thing would have been cool to due. Once I get all the boxsets I might (highly unlikely) try to watch all of the films in a row. I'd probably get sick of it though.

There have been multiple reports. One for 4 hours and 15 minutes, another for 4 hours and 50 minutes, and then a third for 5 hours.

I think the first one is the most likely. Just my two cents though.

Godfather. It was pretty cool. I'd never seen any of them, and HBO ran them back to back several years ago. The way they did the first 2, there was absolutely no break between them. I didn't even realize that was what they were doing until it ended and they said the 3rd one was next.
All of Buffy Season 1 (it was only a midseason replacement, so it wasn't too hard)

edit: Oh, and I watched all of MST3K Collection Volume 1 back to back. I guess that doesn't really count, though.

I tend to stagger trilogies/etc througout a week. I think I may have seen The Godfather films within a 24 hour period.

But the only time I've ever seen all the films of a trilogy or multi-part series in one sitting is with the Die Hard trilogy.

I believe the longest franchise are the films featuring "Wong Fei Hung" as the main character. They're Chinese movies, and there must be well over 100 of them by now.

Is this an actual franchise, or just 100 movies featuring the same actor? Is he always the same character? If it's just a lot of movies with the same actor, Christopher Lee has him beat :D

Sorry to bring this to the top, but I'm bored at work right now (closing shift, it's dead), and I didn't want to start a new thread to share my geekdom. Besides, this is on topic for this thread.

I live out in the middle of nowhere, the kind of place where once every couple of weeks you get the family together for a "trip into town", so there's not always a lot to do on weekends. My family is going away for 2 weeks at the end of October and leaving me alone, and I'm ecstatic. It gives me a chance to do something I've never been able to do:

I'll have the 45" TV all to myself, so I'm going to spend 2, possibly 3 weekends in a row watching trilogies/sagas back to back. Yes, I'm that big of a geek. Do you care? No. But, as I said, I'm bored, so I'm telling you about it. Here's a tentative roster:

LOTR Trilogy - 2 EEs and TE
Star Wars Saga
Jurassic Park Trilogy
Romero's Dead Trilogy
Indiana Jones Trilogy
Alien Quadrilogy
Terminator Trilogy
Hannibal Lector Trilogy (and possibly Manhunter)
M. Night Shymalan's Suspensful Thrillers (not really a trilogy, but it works for me)

That's all I own at this point. I may pick up some others. Right now I only have 2 weekends planned, but if I pick up anymore, I'll go for that 3rd weekend I'll be alone. Yup.......I've reached a new level of geekdom.

I actually know one of the current record holders for most movies in a row. He said that he was actively hallucinating by the end. During the last movie (Casablanca) he hallucinated that he was playing cards with Bogie, Ingrid, Lorre and Rains. He won a years supply of Act II popcorn

Terminator: I saw T1 and T2 then went to see T3 in theaters on July 4th weekend
Star Wars: All four that were released at the time but in the wrong order, I'd been taking a morning class about the Mythological implications of the star wars movies, on the last day of this we watched a letterboxed video of Episode 4. Then when I got home the video of The Man With the Golden Gun that I ordered had come in the mail so I watched that (this has nothing to do with watching Star Wars but it contributed to this major movie day) Then I decided to go and see Episode 1 one last time before it left the big screen for good. On my way home I rented episodes 5 and 6. It was slightly after midnight by the time I finished Jedi so I technically only saw 4 movies that day. I plan to do a complete cronological watchthrough of the star wars movies the day Episode 3 comes out.

but for the most part I tend to watch my sagas one film a day
