Is anyone else anticipating this movie with an all-star cast?

From the short rough trailer I was able to see last month, this isn't going to be as good as you'd think... Looks like bad writing, and one of Phillips' worse films... But, I won't pass complete judgement until it comes out....

Too much of a fan of the TV show to even think about going to see it. Plus, not that big of a fan of Ben Stiller.

Same here, but I like to add I did like Ben Stiller in There's Something About Mary (1998). That said, it's worth noting, for fans of the real S&H, the complete first season (22 eps), including the TV movie pilot and featurettes will be released March 2, 2004 in a 5 disc DVD box set.

While I do like both Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, they are no S&H.
Paul & David are the one and only Starsky & Hutch. Their unique chemistry can never be duplicated. A sequel would have been much better. And Snoop Dog as Huggy?? Antonio still can play that role and btw, doesn't he own the rights to Huggy Bear?
If you want to support the EGPAF through our fundraiser and get a "The REAL S&H T Shirt" to wear at the premier, just email me and LMK.
Of course, I will see the movie as Paul & David have a cameo..any chance to see them on the screen..big or small.. I will see.;)

The trailer wasn't as funny as I was hoping for. There are a few humorous bits, but that's about it.

This movie is just plain weird. No comparisons to the original should be made just because of the different direction this movie is taking...
A similar scenario would be the entire Matrix trilogy remade into one movie, starring Will Ferrell as Neo, Eddie Murphy as Morpheus, Molly Shannon as Trinity, Steve Martin as the Architect, etc...

Forget the damn original.
The trailer was funny - especially towards the end. Lots of time, movies with this kind of sense of humor don't always translate well to trailers. (most of owen wilson adn Ferrell's stuff is funnier in context, stiller too)
I think the combo of Stiller, Wilson, Vaughn, and Ferrell sounds amazing.
I bet this movie will be hilarious

did they really HAVE to make it a comedy? ah well, it's too late anyway, so we're stuck with it..
Oh, and was this gangster fellow they're after supposed to be Jewish? looks like he was wearing a Yamulkah in one trailer scene..

Actually, the reviews so far have been quite positive. There are two pretty positive ones up at AICN right now.
It looks more like a comedy spoof than a serious remake.

And it's worth noting in a previous review of this comedy remake someone has falsely mentioned as a major spoiler that near the end of the movie members of the original TV cast, Paul Michael Glaser (Starsky), David Soul (Hutch) and Antonio Fargas (Huggy Bear) appear in a big cameo surprise. And this must be one of hell of surprise, especially to Fargas because he was never involved in this project.

hmm... well, we'll see how it turns out... I guess they just couldn't resist turning it into a spoof...
they could have done a period piece and made it serious.. or a modern version, with a different red car...

I saw the trailer, it'll be a good rental. It doesn't look like a movie I have to see on the big screen.

I kept wondering why I was only seeing the same jokes over and over in the
TV ads for the movie. Then I saw new ads with new "jokes" and I knew why--this is one of those comedies with just a couple good jokes. He touches his head! High-larious!
