Whats the Greatest Thing about DVDs ?

I love the Extra but the fact the movie will last as long as I do is Best
The fact that you dont have to rewind them. With videos, me and my brother use to yell at each other all the time because the videos were never rewond. But now we just pick up the DVD's and put them in the player. When it is done, they do back in the box, it is as easy as that.

Their life span. It really hits me when I go to the video store and rent older videos and they have been watched so many times that you cant see anything anymore.

Definitely image and sound. Especially when you have a widescreen tv and home theater system.

The Life Span of the movie, and the fact I have the movie period! :)

Image and sound are pretty good, it's nice to see movies in widescreen, of course. Not having to rewind and lifespan are worth it to upgrade from VHS, but I personally get DVD for the special features.

I like everything about DVD's! I'm glad that this format is blowing up though the ROOF! From the image, to the sound, to the features; everything is perfect. Though, what I don't like about DVD's is just when a DVD comes out and another SE comes out a few months after. It drives me CRAZY!!!! But other than that I'm good :)

the fact that they're mostly widescreen

I like all of those advantages. Quality and extras being the biggest. Once you go DV, you don't go back!

wow I cant believe more people don’t vote for life span. Hell I have movies I cant play any more cause the magnetic tape worn off. My friend had a tape he never opened and when he did just this year, the tape wouldn’t play. Sucks how VHS tapes had a limited shelve life then they are no good.

Good quality, indepth behind the scenes which focus on all aspects of the making of a film.
i.e lord of the rings EE, from dusk till dawn (Full tilt boogie), phantom menace, x-men 1.5, indiana jones, jaws, jurassic park etc etc.
Also film commentarys...
Any kevin smith dvds ( the best being mallrats, chasing amy and clerks the cartoon) evil dead 2, donnie darko, big trouble in little china

Woo-hoo! When I voted, I was the first one to vote for extras -- I was shocked! But it seems to have picked up.

Image and Sound. When you have as many as I do, you pay for the digital picture transfer. Who seriously has the time to watch all of the extras on all there dvd's.

My favorite thing about dvds is that they have made easier to collect tv series. Thanks to dvds I have Buffy, Angel, Transformers, Firefly, and The Shield. And they take up less shelf space than tapes.

Noboty appreciates the size...
I gotta add that I do appreciate the image and sound quality and no rewinding a whole lot, but it still comes down to bonus features. Most of the movies I buy I've already seen.

Image and Sound Quality for sure. And also having the option to buy them in Widescreen, which isn't all that common for VHS (at least, it didnt use to be).
After having DVD's, there is NO WAY I can go back to the Image Quality of a VHS tape for my movie collecting needs...
The Extras are an added bonus (and I love when they cram as much on there as it'll hold!)
