What movies in your opinion were absolutely horrible but theere was a great performance in the film. One that comes to me is Dark Blue, Kurt Russel gave a great performance, but the movie completely sucked, bad!

This one comes to mind, Freddy VS jason. Now this film isn't exactly what you would call great movie but to a cetain extent the movie was good. But in my opinion the performances were not great at all. Yeah so there were a couple of good performances here and there, but in all it wasn't super!

Denzel Washington in John Q

Episode I - Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon Jinn
Episode II - Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Christopher Lee as Count Dooku (none of these three performances were outstanding, but the actors did solid work)
Ryan Reynolds - National Lampoon's Van Wilder (What a rotten, rotten movie. But Reynolds has a slightly Jason Lee-like vibe, funny, charismatic.)
Bruce Willis - Die Hard 2: Die Harder (This movie is rather weak, but it's no fault of Willis as McClane.)

I can't think of any others, but here are a few movies that would have been nothing without the spot-on performances (almost the same concept).

Dumb and Dumber - Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels
Mallrats - Jason Lee
The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions - Hugo Weaving (I don't think the movies would have sucked necessarily, but they would have been a lot weaker)
Clue - Tim Curry

Dumb and Dumber (Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels)
I also have to agree with Denzel Washington's performance in John Q, that movie sucked, but he was good in it.

Yeah Denzels was good in the horrible John Q. But I liked Dumb and Dumer, it was a funny dumb movie.

Superman 3, Christopher Reeves and Richard Pryor were the only good things about that rotten egg. (the Supes vs. Supes thing was kind of cool too)

Hopkins played pretty much the same character he always plays.

One that comes to mind for me was Renee Zelwegger in Cold Mountain. She's really the only bright spot in the movie.
