As long as the remake is done well it shouldn't matter what the remake.

I know one thing is for sure. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake should have never been made. I hated it, in my opinion the original was much better. The remake was too predictable and not a bit scary. I laughed through the whole thing, while the rest of the audience jumped through the whole thing, lol. But if I had to pick something to be remade, it would be Day Of The Dead since they are redoing Dawn Of The Dead.

Well, If Dawn Of The Dead sucks, then I would hate for a Day Of The Dead remake to be attempted.

its unfortunate dawn of the dead is being remade as i dont think gore will ever be the same as it used to be (what with CGI and that...) but if i had to remake a movie i'd say resident evil, i know its only recent but god was that movie ****, if they remade they could put a restraining order on Paul W.S Anderson and make it right

I haven't heard like anything really on the Dawn of the Dead remake. So they're making the zombies in CGI??? That sucks.

I believe their should only be remakes of underrated movies and films that haven't survived the test of time. For instance, the 1964 Hitchcock film, Marnie starring Sean Connery. This is PURE underrated material! Get someone like David Fincher or Brian de Palma and you can have a great remake.

Please no remakes, just come up with new and original material.

They are not using CGI to make the Zombies in Dawn Of The Dead, I have seen some early clips (only about 30 seconds of it with no sound) but the Zombies looks great, I cant think what CGI there could be in dawn of the dead....

I wouldn't want a remake, but rather just a new movie.

It's a masterpiece, one of Kurosawa's greatest. There's no way it could be improved.

The ones which have close-ups or if you see them quite close are going to real actors in suits - however the crowds outside the mall, or the scene when they're trying to drive through thosands of them, are CGI shots.

However, the most CGI-ed horror film of 2004 is Resident Evil: Apocalyse. The city on a whole is CGI, but they've used location in certain areas. Also, the zombies in the new film are CGI-enhanced.

2004 - the end of naf-looking horror-flicks

When i'm older, i want to remake/re-do a few films:

To Kill A Mockingbird - i want to make a new version of this film because it's a shame less and less people have seen this film/read the book. Like King Kong, we need to remake some films for the franchise's success.

Beauty and the Beast - i want to make a live action version of this film. If i was able to, it would pretty much be the same as the film, but i would add more in the story, and make it a 3 hour love epic. The battle at the end would be bigger, and now include animals fighting the humans. The beast and funiture would be CGI-characters, and i'd actually give Beast a name.

I've forgotten what else...

I don't read books(comic books are a different story) much, but To Kill A Mockingbird is the best book I have ever read.

Yeah I didn't expect there to be a scene with that many zombies in.

Let's not remake when the original is very well done.

It'd be cool to see a Gremlins remake. I just bought the original on DVD and although it's a fun a silly movie and whatnot, it'd be cool to see an updated version of this, plus the way the FX would change would totally alter the movie. All the gremlins could be CGI when walking around and whatnot, plus the close up robotics would be exponentially better. I mean, this movie was made 20 years ago. The advances would be noticable and it could still be cool.....

Oh, also Ghostbusters. It'd be badass to see them bring that back...

Here's an idea that Hollywood should listen to. No more remakes of GOOD movies. Remake the crappy ones all you like, but leave the good ones alone. Two examples:
Planet of the Apes
Psycho

I don't need to see Ghostbusters remade, but despite it's cancellation, GBIII would have rocked.

Tron would look so much better now.
Dune (not a crappy sci-fi channel version)
Blade Runner

and finally

a Steel Magnolias remake with Bernie Mac, Cedric the Entetainer, Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence, D.L. Hughley, and Steve Harvey- A classic retelling of a great chick flick.
