He feels that the young generation wouldnt want to watch a black and white film. I think its a great idea, King Kong is PJ'S favorite film of all time and Im sure he'll do a good job on it. I even remember him saying that Kong will be better than LOTR.

he always loved the film, and wants to make sure that young people will see it, with the knowledge that they won't really want to watch a black and white film. also gives him the chance to use a heap more CG

The original "King Kong" is a classic film, but the fact of the matter is not a lot of kids these days are not interested in watching black & white films. Peter Jackson, as a fan of the original wants to ensure that this generation gets to see his facourite film, King Kong, on the big screen.

Hey, I'm young (18 in fact), and I love the old film. Hell, I would have done a remake myself had I been in Hollywood, but I've got a good feeling for this film. Jackson has a passion for the old film, and won't destroy this film thanks to it. It's just like Elia Kazan's A Streetcar Named Desire. He stayed true to the play, had a passion for it, and it's still the best version of Streetcar around.

There's nothing wrong with the old movie, but this'll be a fresh new perspective on it. Don't worry, be happy.
