Kind of hard to say but I know glory had an impact on me when it came out. I was only 12 or 13. I never really understood how war was and the Civil War was pretty messed up. Just made me realize how lucky I was not to have to do that.

You have to admit there pretty amazing! The trilogy is nearly as grand as the book! naturally people will say there unforgettable movies?

I'm just sick of the super fans who think they're the greatest movies of all time and if you try to argue with them they rip your head off. Are they good movies? Definitely! Are they the greatest works of cinema art ever to hit the screen? No f-ing way. They're good movies, don't get me wrong, but if I try to ask questions as to plot holes or some technical mistake, people say "DON'T SAY THAT YOU'RE WRONG IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE THAT WAY!"

Freddy Vs. Jason has, undoubtedly, had a really big impact on me!!!!! Before Freddy Vs. Jason, I had seen NOES 1 and a few other horror movies and I hated them all. But after I saw the trailer for Freddy Vs. Jason (attached to Matrix: Reloaded) I grew to love all horror movies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D

Definately The Crow. Maybe moreso because he died and you just had this sense of the "Lee" legacy when that hit the news. Then there was an unusual anticipation as it got closer to the movie's release date. And when I finally saw the movie.... holy crow! I got out and immediately got back in line and watched it again. Amazing.

And for impact in a negative sense that would have to be Phantom Menace... all my hopes and wishes and anticipation, shot to $hit like a bucket 'o poo.

The Original Star Wars Trilogy and Back to the Future will remain with me forever, but the two most impressionable movies I saw during my childhood were Ghostbusters, the first movie I ever saw, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Now, I remember being seriously moved the first time I saw Forrest Gump, and Fight Club and Se7en showed me some of the smartest filmmaking of my generation. The Lord of the Rings movies, while the default answer, as you say, did blow me away when I first saw Fellowship -- and come on. You'll still have copies on your shelf in 40 years...

For me it is Black Hawk Down. Just because at the time it happened, I was the same age as the Rangers who were caught in that Hell and SFC. Randy Shughart is from my hometown area. His parents bought my grandmothers house in New Germantown.

Spider-Man. I went to go see it so many times, I lost count. I even skipped a final exam to go see it. I was so moved, I dropped out of the college I was attending to learn more about filmmaking.
I remember the first time I saw it, I stepped outside the theatre and just sat on the curb thinking about how cool it was. I went back in to see it again, then after that, I had trouble driving home because I kept daydreaming about me being spidey, swinging around fighting bad guys.

How can you ask? There are to many. Here are mine that I won't soon forget:

Reservoir Dogs
Fight Club
LOTR Trilogy (yep)
Matrix Trilogy (even though I hated the last one)
Godfather Trilogy (Hated the last one in this trilogy also :) )

Rogue

Gone with the Wind - my favorite movie of all time. I love the way it shows that even through war, people can find their strength and carry on. Scarlett is my favorite heroine of all time. One tough lady and Vivian Leigh portrayed her perfectly.

Schindler's List - One of the most touching films I've ever seen.

LOTR (all three, I'm not a fanatic but it did have an impact) - Goes to show what true friendship can accomplish.

A Clockwork Orange (that **** will mess with your head  ) - The whole premise behind the story just blows me away. I don't even know where to begin with this one.

Platoon- Damn powerful film. The best film about Vietnam, I'd venture to say. It's brutal and heartbreaking. If you haven't seen it- SEE IT.

Transformers, although it wasn't actually the series or the movie (which rock anyway) that affected me, it was Optimus Prime: a character like him has not graced TV screens in a long while (his recent incarnations have been total bastardisations), and I fear we shall never see his kind again

Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King; because it shows what can be done when you step up to the plate so to speak

Donnie Darko, I've never felt so humbled by a teenage character in a movie before, but after what Donnie did at the end of that movie I can't help but feel moved and glad that despite the growing 'gangsta' culture in society teenagers, its good to know, even if only in films, such good people exist

Optimus Prime: inspired me

Aragorn: strengthened me

Donnie Darko: humbled me

That's all

Many movies have moved/inspired me. But there is one that stands out like a sore thumb. I went to go see We Were Soldiers. I went to the movie with about 8 people most were my friends, one was my brother, and one was my father. He asked to come along as we were going out the door. Me and my friends are all 22 or 23 at the time and were over the whole "can't be seen with mom/dad thing".

All of my friends had already known that my dad was in Vietnam. They also knew he was a helicopter pilot. None of us could actually put two and two together until we saw that film. When we left the theater all my friends couldn't even look at my dad in the eyes. It was out of respect and fear to see him cry. He didn't at the theater but did at home. That was weird. We had to leave the house as soon as possible. The rest of the night all I heard out of my friends was how impressed they were with my dad. He finally recieved some well over due respect.

The next day we, my dad and me, talked about the movie. He expressed so much anger towards movies like Platoon, Casualties of War, Apocolipse Now, etc., etc. He was so infuriated that the only images coming out of that war were images of the few, very few, scum buckets that acted in unprofessional ways. It made it look like everyone in Vietnam was a drugged up, raping, bystandar killing wacko. He deserved a movie like this. It was unfortunately 20 years too late.

But anywayz cant really think of one movie that ill never forget cause i dont tend to forget any of them (unfortunately this means the bad too.) As far as being in awe though when I first saw them in the theatre and that memory sticking with me forever I would have to say the the LOTR trilogy, Jurassic Park, The Matrix, ..

Ummm... I would have to say We were soldiers. That movie hits a soft spot on me. It just made me think how I would feel if I had to leave my family and go to vietnam. It makes me think about my girlfriend alot. (now fiance (think I spelled it right) What if you had to leave the one you love. Knowing you might not come back. Then I pictured her getting the letter from the taxi driver. Man thats some rough stuff.

21 Grams. When I left the theatre I was so emotionally drained! I mean it just affected me so much. It really got me thinking about life, love, and death like no other movie has. I really recommend it. I think also the fact that the performances were so real and precise helped alot as well.

Okay films that I will never forget

1 Memento - so many features to that film that create images that just last, from the spitting in the drink, to the photo of Guy's character smeared in blood because he had killed his wife's killler, knowing that he was going to be continually used and never know the truth etc etc
2 Three Colours Red - no matter how many times I view that film I always ponder over the ending, whehter things happen, whether someone was driving the characters into that direction
3 Three Colours Blue - where Juliette's character has to try and kill a mouse is just gripping
4 Matrix - walked out thinking oh my god esp after the lobby scene
5 Barberella - scifi camp but lots of fun
6 The Others - Nicole Kidman flick - never saw the ending coming and it was really good and underrated film
7 Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer - bloody freaky film because you know it can happen, you know it can
