End Bond!

Its not realistic that bond looks different after about every 7-10 flicks, what, did he get plastic surgery? Why don't they get new agents, with different names. Why doesn't bond get partners, just strong f**k buddies. He never ages, its annoying. End bond now.

Only one thing to say about this post. Now, some people have little, if any lives, so they have to go around and try to cause trouble in, of all places, an internet message board, but thats ok. I just wanted to address the overriding complaint of "Bond doesn't age?" How many people nowadays are going to movies and expecting everything to be logical or make sense. Movies don't make sense, whole genres are meant not to make sense, so with this guy complaining that Bond doesn't age, needs to take a look at the overall body of films, if he was actaully meaning that comment to be an actual complaint. That is all.

Just like....most action movies. Hey, let's remove all movies you think are repeatative and everyone will be happy.

The thing about the Bond changes every 6 films argument is that you just don't understand the series. It's not really a series, there isn't (really) any continuity. It isn't a big story like star wars. He's a charachter like sherlock holms. The actor can change.

I would think that that would be something that could ruin a movie for me, trying to go in looking for a deeper meaning when there's really none to be found. If your sitting in the theater thinking, "wait a tick, he doesn't look like the other guy that played bond. how does that work?" then the movie's already been ruined for you. If stuff like that bothers you, then don't bother going to it in the first place, but most people just go in looking for a damn entertaining film, and that's what they get.

1 and 1a have already been pretty well covered. And on the aging thing: I guess you don't like Batman, Daredevil, Superman, X-Men comics et cetera because they should all be in the rest home now, since they're several decades old? (Or at least Lois should be in Supes' case ;) )

Actually Bond DOES age. Watch Never Say Never agian...or A View to a Kill! *BA DA bump!* :p And the results are not pretty. Bond is a timeless character who will change to always be on the cutting edge. Though he needs to get back to the 'espionage' roots...

2 and 3 They do showcase different MI6 agents and other partners for Bond...just not always a lot of screen time. And the Bond character much prefers to work alone. Of course if the 'partner' has sex appeal, then... ;)

Not true. I'm 18 and have loved Bond for years. I'm pretty sure most of the people on the Bond boards are in there upper-teens, 20's, or 30's. Many of my friends like Bond and all of them prefer it over the cheap rip-off that is XXX. The only thing most of my friends, the "yoof", agree on when it comes to these two franchises is that XXX is pretty damn terrible. But maybe you were talking about the 12 and 13 year olds. We all know how valuable their experienced opinions are.

I believe tedward was referring to the fact that most youngsters prefer XXX (or his contemporaries) over 007. The fact that this forum is titled Bond and your in it would obviously mean you have some affinity to the agent, and you probably belong to a small cliche.

Well they did film one once where nothing blew up, Bond did a guy, the bad guy then killed him, the end.......but the test audiance didn't like it, so there were massive reshoots....but thanks for the suggestion.

Why does he look different? I'll take a shot in the dark and say....different actors. Yay, do I win a prize?

Why don't they get new agents? Two words...."Casino Royale"

Why doesn't he get a partner? He does, they just happen to get killed all the time...think it's union rules.

Nah I was just trying to stir a little - I believe that was what izzy was trying to do too (in a non-serious manner) - It was just another argument you here occasionly from people who dont like bond - (Most bond flicks can really appeal to children - what child isnt amazed at some guy using a jet pack to escape from a castle?) It was also a reference to the past xxx threads.
