Heehee. December 8th is swiftly upon us. Did anyone watch the old battlestar episodes? It only aired for 1 season, but it was truly a cult classic. THe new fighter ships in verson 2 look sweet, and this time there are no cheese special effects. But they changed the music-- there is this drum sounding beat now, kinda ominus and mysterious. Anyone else gonna watch?[I]:applaud:

I totally saw the old episodes! I am three DVDs in (and they are two-sided DVDs) -- and I saw the Lowdown, I have an 8x10 glossy of the '78 show's crew, and I have a serious crush on Number Six. Aside from that, the only thing I hated about the old show (and I am a total fan) were how stupid, lumbering, and slow the Cylons were -- and it looks like the new ones might be hot sexy and menacing. I hope its a little bit fun and not too dark: 1978 was both.

I am really excited, I saw all the old shows when they were originally aired in primetime. I saw the movie...if was long enough that movies back then that were more then a certain length that it still had an intermission in the film (excallaber is like that also). I think that this is a good looking remake.

I'll watch it if it's good or not coz there are so little TV shows I like anymore they have all finnished.

Well, I am pretty psyched about it -- and its on tonight on SciFi channel I think at 9PM Eastern.

There are some pretty cool reviews of it online that I have been able to find, so I am totally going to be all over this show tonight -- I am sick of bloody reality shows - so sick I could vomit!

Wooh, hi-ho- silver. easy now. I do not really care about the reviews, even though I have seen a lot of good ones. Tonight is the airing of part 1. I am so excited! What kind of relationship will Commanser Adama have with his son, Captain Apollo, after the first Cylon war?? What will Baltar's reaction be when he finds out about #6? How sis the Cylons "evolve"? This is definitely taking priority over Monday night football...

It's good space opera fun... can't wait to see the next episode... hopefully sci-fi picks it up as a weekly series... it has more promise than these crappy reality shows sci-fi is picking up...

I watched it and liked it and I usually don't like space opera stuff. Battlestar mive was just way more grown up and serious than the typicle star wars crap (there was blood . . . gasp and cussing something you don't see in starwars), which I dislike. So I say catch it again when they reair it, as scifi always does.

Took the time to watch the two part episode. The beginning dragged a little, but it was expected because they were trying to tell a new audience the backstory.

I was leary of some of the changes - Starbuck and Boomer being women being one of the changes. The new Starbuck is a pretty good fit for the character. A new human-looking cylon is another new twist.

One scene I thought to be pretty interesting was during the battle between the Cylons and the Vipers at the the end of the second part. When one of the Vipers was destroyed, you were able to see one of the pilots thrown from their cockpit and floating away in space. Neat scene.

Now for a spoiler.

One of the last scenes, the crew of the Gallactica is worried that there might be some more of the human-looking Cylons left on Gallactica.

Cut to Adama reading a message that states that there are 12 different Cylon models.

The last scene, four of the human Cylon models - all different looking humans - were shown walking into a space station that was abandoned by the Gallactica. The last model to speak as it walked through the door was Boomer.

Cool Ending.

I liked the ending too...

Excellent cliffhanger... hopefully sci-fi gets it through their thick skulls that they have something here worth giving an hour timeslot to. I mean, their making another Stargate series... give me a break...
