i wouldn't call it horror at all. It's more comic book movie. But this movie rocks. One of my favorites. Too bad the sequels sucked

I just seen it again for the Umpteenth time and yes it is a Horror Film with comic book elements in it.

It's somewhat silly and It sometimes is hilarious how he all of a sudden gets all the blown up computer equipment to work like it ws brand new.

Plus where did he get the money to start out with after the accident ?

Plus the effects are very dated now.

I liked it but those parts are Corny.

And for those who don't know This was directed by Sam Raimi as he is a big comic book fan and this was his tribute to the genre.
12 years later he would conquer superhero films with Spider-Man.

Larry Drake was fantastic as Durant btw.

I was pretty young when I saw this movie and the way the goons tortured the main character put me off this movie for some time.

Darkman is a fine movie, it's very corny though, but I think that kinda adds to the enjoyment somehow.

The only thing that puts me off is the fact that I know Liam Neeson (the guy who plays Darkman) is Irish and he's putting on an accent, that kinda stuff always distracts me when wacthing movies.

I keep seeing it played on my satellite. I love the part when he gets mad over the pink elephant. Then he bends the carnie's fingers back. :funny:

God that brings back memories -- I saw that in the theatre years ago -- I like the guy with the machine gun for the leg who kills like 40 people -- didn't know they made a sequel and Liam Neeson really has gone on to a splendid career

Well, I s'pose it's not in the league of greats such as House of the Dead (and the rest of the crap you think is great), but it is a good movie.

I remember I saw this in the movies when I was 7 years old back in 1990,and I thought that it was scary for me at the time. I liked this movie, but I have not seen this movie in it entirtey at all since then. It really surprised me when I learned years ago that that was liam neeson that played darkman. All the straight to video sequels for this movie sucked though.

Do you guys remember the movie Crime Wave? It was Sam's movie about two psychos that are trying to kill everybody? That fat one eats everything and the skinny electrocutes everything? They're rat exterminators. Remember that? They should have brought those guys back to fight Darkman! Boom. Instant classic.

Crimewave...Joel and Ethan Coen worked on that film too, as with Evil Dead...

Heh, Darkman would have been so much better had Sam Raimi been able to get Bruce in the starring role like he wanted. I think the studio shot that idea down and got Liam instead.

I didn't realize the Coens worked on Crimewave? That's awesome. And Bruce was in Crimewave too, you know. I wish that movie was available on DVD!
