My Alternate Ending for the Movie [Archive]

Just came back from the movie last night (in IMAX :)). What I noticed was that the ending wasn't a right one for fans. So I made up this absolute ending. I told my friend about this ending, he got pissed off because he started to like the ending that I am about to tell you. Be warned, you might like this ending better

Right at the end of revolutions, where we see the sun glaring at us, the next shot we see is a resturant. We see a black cat walking on the sidewalk and through the window of the resturant, we see Neo looking at the cat, he is drinking soup (a reference from the first movie). He turns his head away from the window and sees Trinity as a waitress who works at the resturant. It would be great if the machines sees her body at the machine world and reinserts her body into the Matrix for extra energy. Or, we could say that the machines in a way to say thanks to Neo brings her back to life. Anywayz, Neo and Trinity don't know each other yet because they don't have any memories of each other, but you could see the love in Neo's eyes for Trinity when he is watching her. Then the next shot will be he turns back to the window, and sees the black cat again. Then we see Neo's facing, realizing that he just experienced a deja vu. And then the movie ends, leaving us to know that Neo and Trinity are back and will soon fall in love again.

How was that? Go easy on me.

It doesn't do it for me. Why would they have no memory of eachother. This sounds as if some form of reincarnation is involved.

well, sort of in a way. It's not like they get jacked back in. The machines creates a new life for Trinity and Neo i guess. They are now part of the system, both ready to get out of the Matrix.

It's an interesting idea, and I like the little nod to the first film where Neo points out his old favorite resturant, but it leaves Neo and Trinity "captives" of the Matrix again and puts them back to square one.

IF there ever was a sequel I would think the Machines would use Neo to keep control of the Matrix IF he wasn't able to escape them and someone else...like the next One would have to destroy /rescue him.....and truely stop the Matrix from exsisting.

I've posted this a few times...Neo showing up as an Agent would be an intersting twist.

to Thomas Anderson - well not programs. Remember Cypher, when he was trying to get back to the Matrix. Cypher isn't a program. But, if the machines can hook up Trinity back into the Matrix, she could easily be revived.

to NEO - It doesn't put them back to square one. Morpheous and easily bring them out when they're ready. Plus, if you think about, the Matrix got reloaded because the source absorbed Neo in to it's code. So the Matrix is technically back to ''square one'' anyway.

I guess I'm one of the few who likes the ending the way it was... it couldn't have ended any other way.

You got a nice ending...maybe for some other movie, but if the Matrix had ended that way, I would not have been happy.

Okay, you know how the kid announces to all of zion that the war is over? I think a better ending would have been for him to go there but have everyone dead...except for 23 people; 16 women and 7 men. That way it would be clear that humanity will be enslaved forever, because this Neo made a different choice than his predecessors and they still ended up with the same result. The Merovingian said that choice is an illusion between people with power and people without it. It would have been extremely dark and definitive but still would have left people scratching their heads. Fwiw I enjoyed the movie :)

that's harsh. I just made an ending so trinity's death will seem less sad, that was the worst part of the movie, she said in Reloaded, right after they had sex, that she would never let go :(

i would have liked to see all the main cast (including mero, seraph, oricle, morph.) sitting on a picnic rug in a circle on the grass where the park bench is, sipping tea and laughing together and blue ghost versions (like obe wan, yoda and anakin in ROTJ) of Neo, Trin, and Smith hugging and waving to them from afar. while happy sentinals dance in the background to conga music.

He's definitely dead... the trilogy could not end properly without the Messiah giving his life to save the world, it had to happen

For that ending to atleast work some, there would have had to have been atleast some chemistry between Neo and Trinity somewhere in the trilogy.

He goes to work,his boss yells at him.Then Fedex sends him a package.He opens it,a cell phone comes out and it starts ringing.He picks it up.

"Hello Neo.Do you know who this is?"

God that would suck.

or after the architect walks away he orders that the whole matrix is shut down, the machines destroy every human being on the planet and then they genetically mass-produce a different animal (like cows) that have less free will and insert them into a green hillside version of the matrix.....

..until, one day after repeatedly eat grass, a cow starts to question the world around him..............and then goes back to eating grass.

Enter the Cowtrix!!!

a friend of mine suggested that they end the movie w/zions destruction except for a few and ending w/the beginning of the first matrix.........though pessimistic.....thatd be kinda cool to me b/c its more realistic......

otherwise.....keeping things relatively the same......itd been kinda trippy if theyd have ended it w/neo waking up in mostly white colored bio-orb in one of the human fields.....only it looks 100 times more futuristic (almost romaneque/artistically structured) than the ones weve seen in matrix and revolutions....the suns shinning down to reveal green trees/fields w/wildlife in them surrounding the human mechanical fields towering into the sky like crystals glinting in the sun.....then two robots fly up - one w/rocket boots (extremely futuristic/robotic/human looking) and the other w/mechanical wings (angelic in appearance).......they then converse:

"it seems that 'the One" has AGAIN awoken"
"yes...expected as his replacement was fertilized a few days ago......go and inform the maker that it is time to hit the reset button once again"....the winged robot's arm elongates like a snake, wraps around neos neck and head and then snaps it and his body is flushed down the hole.........

I would love to see the Matrix going on with new boss agent: Neo

This would be cool, if they have used his code to reload and make Matrix better and stronger.

People would still be captured, nothing have changed, choice is a illusion.

This would explain that Smith was The One in the Matrix before. They are not human anymore, but their codes were reprogrammed by the machines and made programmes themself.

Baadshah, I dig your ending. I didn't have a problem with Revo's ending except for that certain death you're speaking of. it bothered me, too. Neo's death was "inevitable." everyone saw that coming a mile away. they shoulda ended the film on a happier note that the two meet again without knowing each other (I like the soup/restaurant idea). and the cat reference, ya, that woulda been awesome. it'd give the audience a brighter spark of hope and love then the films ending of "whatever happens, happens." if anything, it'd show the machine's evolution as now Neo and Trinity are back in the Matrix as programs who discover the ability to love.

i wasn't talking specifically to you. I was talking to people and post their fantasy ending.

If would have been cool if the next scene, after we see the sun glaring at the screen, we see the ending of the first Matrix movie. It's like we saw the ending of Revolutions at the end of The Matrix all along. We see Neo in the Matrix and he is going to free people himself

i would have loved to see 10,000 neos fighting 10,000 smiths, or more. like the whole world was being destroyed by these two men. that've been cool.
also, he should have been more messed up from the crash. i'd have liked it more if he would have barely been able to stand, like the adventure had nearly broken him, then, in contrast, he's still a god in the matrix.
i dunno, we all had these fantastic ideas for what could happen, but it really was the best way i think. and i'm really glad that they left alot open. thats a great sign for us, because it means that the story will continue, eventually (yes, i know about the game)

trinity had to die..their relationship was a little too much happy...besides the architect said..she is going to die and there's nothing u can do....The alternate ending I would prefer, is the one that Neo reappeared calling from a phone the same speech than at the end of the matrix....so he was actually talking to those who knew about the matrix and didn't want to be free...But a better one would be that after the conversaation between the oracle and the architect, a camera shows a building, and then the camera goes directly to a windows, then it shows a guy piking up a red pill from some guys hand...the guy gets up a goes with other guy to the back of the room, the the camera slowly shows the identity of the guy in the red chair...is neo.......that is what is call a great ending

when the Architect said that about Trinity, he meant when she falls at the beginning. In a machine's way, he was trying to convince him to go to the source instead of the Matrix. He was trying to convince him, that's all. It's not like he knew that she will die

but the ending left it so open for a sequal, especially when the producers said they won't make a sequal. They didn't end it properly, they ended with more disappointing deaths and confusing questions

okay, my ending would be...

A recap of all the scenes from all of the movies. kinda like life flashing before your eyes type of thing. while the scenes are playing, the camera zooms out slowly and you start to notice you are seeing it all within an eyeball. zooms out further still and you see a cat's face w/ a twinkling eye. the cat blinks, then turns hops up into neo's arms and he stands up from the resturaunt table that he's at. instead of a tip, neo places two spoons, one w/ a red pill, and one w/ a blue pill, and says..."which one will it be?". the camera zooms out and over to a young GIRLS' face and a look of relief flows over her face. she reaches for a pill, you don't see which one, she takes it with a glass of water, she stands up and the movie ends.

okay, how was that. kinda spoofing a little off of baadshah's but some of my own.

First of all I just want to say that I loved the ending the way it is. I think that it requires a little thinking, and isnt all spelled out for you, and that is on purpose. I just think this should have been an alternate ending on the DVD, just for kicks.

Architect: (with a lot of artchitect babble about vis a' vis, ergo, crap) I will write a sentiant program, and we will insert it into the programming of 2 brothers within the matrix. They will write a major motion picture for the world's largest production company, explaining what the matrix is. They will release it as an Epic Trillogy. It will explain the world as we know it today.

*architect turns and looks at the camera*

Architect: Welcome, to the real world!

THE END

Ok, Ok, go ahead and chop it up.. I know your going to... but i just thought that would have been a crazy ending.. It would have really made people think.. hell it woulda even make the W-Bros think.. lol "where did we get this crazy idea anyway?"

cool ending, but doesn't the emphasize the Neo is now have the role that Morpheous had, and the girl is THE ONE. But what won't make sense is now there are two ONES

I think it doesn't really fit... becuase the oracle said to Trinity "You're going to die for Neo"... and exactly THAT happened...

it'd be much better if just everyone'd die in the movie with a big fat bang like the end of "End of Evangelion"...

ok...i thought mine was trippy....urs was F***-with-the-mind all over the place messed up.....i like it...though i wouldnt have the architect talk to the camera.....still i like the actual ending better......
