ive noticed like a lot of scratches on my American Pie DVD. I watched it and its fine. It doesnt seem to skip at all or mess up. But the scratches annoy me. I dont really want to clean it anymore. i used scratch remover which didnt help. and the most stupid thing i could of done ...i used my shirt and made a circular movement, and thats what kinda scratched it up worse(so i think) will these scratches hurt my dvd at all? these are scratches like if you turn the cd the right way in the light thats how you can only see them. I know i sound a little OCD(i am). But i want to know is this something i should be totally concerned about or should i just shut my damn mouth and watch the dvd and enjoy it. the scratches are everywhere, the whole DVD is just a bunch of circular scratches. although other cds i have are like this*they play fine* im just a little more causious about this.. also when i put it under my big big kitchen light..it looks like a rainbow(like water colors) like there is oil on it. none of my other dvds do this...i mean i think its normal. cause a few of my cds look like oil is spilt on them when i look at them in the sun. is that normal. just asking. okay bye.

The 'oil spill' is normal, don't worry. As for the scratches, it depends on how good your DVD-player is. The better the laser, the less it matters how many scratches there are or how deep the scratches are. Why don't you just try playing it on your DVD-player, see if it works. And, in the future, don't use your shirt... :)

Buy two copies of any dvd you buy - 1 for watching and the other as a collectors item which you can keep in the cellaphane wrapping so you can be sure it will remain in the same condition as when it left the factory.

You're joking, right? Doesn't that seem a little 'paranoid', not to mention unnecessarily expensive?

well, lets see. I mean the scratches arent deep. They just look like they are on the surface and didnt really dig into anything. And um, the dvd worked in my old dell computer, and its working on my dvd play as i speak. so i guess its good to go. i just worry about things too much. and dude, by 2 dvds..that is kinda of expensive. but pretty much the dvd works great(even on my 5 year old computer).
