Captain John Miller, from the movie Saving Private Ryan

Capt. Miller dies in battle. He and his troops decide to help defend a ruined city, because that is one of the last chances they will have. They run a surprise attack. They end up winning, but Miller dies at the very end of it, getting shot.

Katsumoto is the last samurai leader. He knows its over for his people but they still fight to the death. They are completely destroyed, but Katsumoto still has time to "die honorably." (by not allowing the enemy to kill him, but kill himself)

Both deaths were glorious in their own right. Both deaths hit heart strings in the film and for the viewers. Both died for their people, and both died during spactacular war scenes.

But I choose Katsumoto for the ultimately prideful way he went out, by his own strike.

Lenny was angry at Teddy, who told him everything that had happened since his wife's death, and so he made up clues that said Teddy was the killer, and Lenny eventually killed him. A psychotic murderer goes on a "mission" from God, claiming he is there to punish those guilty of the seven deadly sins:
Gluttony (by forcing a man to eat his way to death) ,
Greed (by making a man cut off part of his stomach, then bleeding him to death),
Sloth (by starving and leaving a man to die in a room, for a year),
Lust (by forcing a man to murder a prostitute),
Wrath (by killing Brad Pitt's wife and unborn baby, to teach him a lesson),
Pride (by cutting off a woman's nose),
and Envy.
He commits the first 6, and then Brad Pitt ends up killing the psycho for his Envy of Brad Pitt.
(I may have mixed up a couple of the deaths, but the deaths are the same, just maybe not the sin)

Tim dies unexpectedly. You see him in the dentist chair, and you are on the edge of your seat the whole time, thinking the dentist is gonna drill his brain or something. Then he leaves the office, and runs out to play. He scares some crows, which scares a mechanic, who pulls a lever accidentally, which drops a huge glass window on him, crushing Tim, and gushing out his blood.
