So can anyone tell me the real story? I mean, does he really die? or did he fake his death?

i really don't know. i saw the movie when it came out and was confused myself. i left the theatre asking the same questions.

I believe he's really gone, unfortunatley.
I remember seeing a special about him and his friends said that Andy couldn't believe that people thought he was faking his illness.
I can see how people would think that though, considering his other antics.
