In all fairness Matrix shouldn't have beaten Terminator, I know it's a matter of opinions, but T1 & T2 are masterpieces, only Matrix comes close, Reloaded and Revolutions are nowhere near...IMO

That's my usual argument for why I like the Matrix trilogy better, too (even though much of the Matrix is simply philosophical ideas and mythological characters update or brought to life) . . .

I agree, but also add that it's hard to sit through and watch all the LOTR films frequenlty because of their length and some dry spells in the films where not much is going on.

LOTR is VERY well made, but I just can't sit through them too many times before wanting to hang myself

Most of the people who vote are always the same.Rarely do new voters come on.

I am waiting for the trilogy to be complete! As I have stated before. I waited for the Matrix trilogy to be complete, and look how that went. It came back and beat the champion after losing in the finals. So I will wait for ROTK to come out. Duh!!

Im sure a decent amount of the Camera shots will look off (this is where people who bash the Matrix for looking not 100% real can shut up, it looks good enough) but as long as it gets the job done and doesnt look like Blade 2 in front of the lights type CG, I thnk ROTK will be fine

Kill Bill is overrated just like every other Tarentino movie. Ive seen much better fight scenes in many Jackie Chan and Jet Li films....and Kill Bill isn't gorey at all...Watch Ichi the Killer and Battle Royale has the same type of spraying blood effects...theres probably many more with those blood effects I just havent seen em.

i think that even 20 may be too low. a month or 2 ago there was a poll of this same question, and over a few days, abut 100 people voted. and the result was 80-20 to LOTR. so i think about 40 would be good. will ensure a fair battle

Yeah Moose is right to an extent,

It;s not like this is in The Horror Forum or animation , It's in the second most fequented area on the boards and more people vote in these battles than any other.

I've seen bad battles on here get 30 votes , this is a Top Quality battle, this will get quite tons of response.

It all depends on how long Glordeen wants to drags it out.
Maybe he wants to get right into the Battle Battle and having a to 40 battle will take a bit of time.

Plus honestly if they're neck and neck it will take a few days.
I've never seen any battle thread get 80 votes for a particular battle.It can be done with these films but it will take a bit.

You forget that people are fickle. Loads of them aren't really speaking from which movie they think is truly a better movie in the long run of things; they're just saying what they like at the moment. Of course the poll was 80-20 for the Matrix Revolutions, because the movie had just come out. I'm more of a Matrix fan than an LOTR fan, but even I knew the polls (and the voting) would be biased around that period of time. Unfortunately they'll be biased now as well, but we can't escape that. I for one want a higher vote count to account for the overhead of "here & now" fans that will come in and vote LOTR just because it's what's hot right now, as opposed to it overall being better (and for the record, even I can't help but admit that ROTK is better than Revolutions, cinematically speaking - even though it's an adaptation of one of the most popular and rich fiction books in history and it had a strong following before even the first movie was filmed, but still, a story is a story is a story. We could argue this one forever.).

Face it, people. This match is gonna be over quicker than you expect. Just like Matrix fans were up til 4 in the morning voting in wins for the Matrix series back in October/November, so will the LOTR fans be up and voting for the LOTR series. My predictions are an early win for LOTR, but if some of you would like to prove me wrong, good luck. LOL

Thats the way I feel. The Matrix films I can watch a lot, over and over, The LOTR films I wont watch much, their long and sometimes boring but they are VERY well made films.

Anyway, for fvck's sake, I'll vote The Matrix Trilogy. I have many reasons (and long arguments) for voting this way, but it mainly has to do with the fact that these two come in a dead heat to me as far as key points like originality, creativity and cinematography are concerned, and I think both of them in their own way did their part to change how movies are going to be made in the future; but after all the ties, the bottom line is I liked The Matrix more.

And even more honestly . . . I voted for The Matrix Trilogy because I know it's not going to win. Like I said before . . . go ahead and try to prove me wrong. LOL

Agree....most war movies make me feel that way, they're one of the genre's I just can't get into....Older war flicks are better IMO, like Platoon and stuff.
