ghostbusters 3 would've been awesome, i heard that will smith and chris farley were signed on to do it in the absence of bill murray. but then farley died..... R I P. i can just imagine him with a proton pack on running down a hall after some ghost screaming at the top of his lungs. it's a cryin' shame this didn't happen

I'd like to see a movie based on Fastlane. As a big fan of the show, I think it would be an EXTREMELY fun movie. You got Van (Peter Facinelli) , Deaq (Bill Bellamy), and Billy (Tiffany Thiessen) all together on the big screen for at least 120 minutes. I think the film could pick up where the series left off before it was cancelled. McG could direct, the cursing would be uncensored, and the deaths could be much more violent. One of the things that would work best in the film would be the chemistry between Van and Deaq. This movie would be a perfect action - comedy.

Oh, I'd really like to see another X-files movie. With Maulder, Scully, Doggett and the rest of the cast. This of course would show what happens to the characters after the events of the last episode.

Forget about a sequel -- remake the original. Though never one of my faves, Spawn had the potential to be a pretty damn good dark action movie. But, as is Hollywood's way, all that potential was shamefully squandered. If the movie were remade more in the vein of the comics or cartoon (anybody remember the HBO Spawn cartoon?) it'd be tres cool.
Also, I'm a history freak so I have tons of great ideas for movies that no one in Hollywood would ever greenlight in a million years. My favorite is Aurelian & Zenobia. It's a perfect cinematic story. Aurelian is a Bulgarian farmboy who becomes Emperor of Rome and is pitted against the exotic Queen Zenobia of Palmyra when she tries to conquer the asian half of the empire. He brings Zenobia home in triumph, revitalizes the empire, and beats back the barbarian hordes in four short years. Then one of his own men lies to the soldiers, telling them the emperor plans to have them all executed. Aurelian is murdered by his own men, who, when they realize they have been deceived, kill the traitor in a frenzy of grief and regret.
It's got everything Hollywood likes: Big battles, a beautiful babe, glorious triumphs, betrayal, and a heartbreaking ending. What more do you need? Besides, imagine the merchandising potential! Aurelian lunchboxes, Zenobia Barbie dolls, the list is endless!

My fantasy Ghostbuster 3 cast:
Jack Black (Stanz's son in the movie)
Dave Foley (Venkman's son in the movie)
Bob Odenkirk ( Spengler's son in the movie)
Terrence Carson (Zeddemore's son)
David Cross (Tully's son)

let me tell you something....Sequels Suck!
unless it's a comic book movie, or another type of movie that is made to have a sequel, there shouldn't be any sequels to any other movies!
examples of retarded sequels:
Oceans 12
Legally Blonde 2
The Thomas Crown Affair 2
The Whole 10 yards
I still know what you did last summer
hey, I got an idea, let's make a sequel to The Shawshank Redemption!!!!!

Believe it or not, there is a "Jaws 5" out there, but it's a rip off! It's illegal to distribute it in the USA as it actually uses scenes from the original "Jaws" series as well as other shark movies. The footage is stolen, along with some of its soundtrack that they stole from "Star Wars"! I really don't know why they called it "Jaws 5" in the first place. If any of you find it let me know how it is, won't you?
A few rumours have spread from Universal Studios. One is that they will have a "school" of great whites. Remember the tale in the original "Jaws" with Quint telling Brody and Hooper about the USS Indianapolis? The story line meant to be similar to that if you do remember. (A ship going down and a heap of sharks waiting at the bottom for the people to come flying off before it sinks) The idea sounds pretty cool, a bit like "Piranha" but with great whites. However, only time will tell if it will actually happen or not. Another script is floating around the Internet for "Jaws 5 - The Darkest Waters" too, no one really knows who started writing it, or why.
So the question is, would these movies stop you from going to the beach? As if seaweed isn't creepy enough, a 10ft great white could just be there, waiting for the right moment. Sharks are very well known for hunting in extremely shallow waters but, seriously, compared to how many sharks there are, there really isn't that many attacks. As marine biologists learn more about all sea animals, I think a lot more flaws will appear in these films but, until then, what we don't know will continue to terrify us.
So it does exist...Sort Of...

Am I the only one who is sick of sequels?
All the time now its sequels, or remakes, or prequels, hardly any original ideas.
e.g. I remember about 10 years ago when they were saying stuff like "yeah we made it with a sequel in mind" but now its a trilogy in mind, and they are doing remakes of all thew classics I'm sick of it.
Some films there shouldn't be sequels to, e.g. gladiator it should be a stand alone film, and they have to stop doing remakes of these old films, I can't beleive that someone said they wanted to see a sequel to natural born killers...
And with all these remakes its getting terrible they ruin some of the greatest films, and we all know that a remake of the great escape is around the corner, its bound to happen.
Anyway films I would like to see...
Legend of Zelda: the movie
A good portrail of one of h.p.lovecrafts stories.
Futurama film(matt groening has said he wants to do atleast one but is having problems with fox over it)
League of gentlemen film(the british comedy, not the superhero thing that they have just released)

Oh I agree wholeheartedly. Damn it's a shame he's no longer with us. He would still be making some crazy films I'm sure. Tommy Boy will always be a favourite of mine. Still I'm glad that David Spade is getting somewhere in his career rather than being in Farley's shadow. They made a hell of a team those two. Isn't Spade in a movie with those annoying Olsen twins?
FVD.
I would have loved to have seen a Star Trek movie that combined TNG, DS9 and Voyager. That would have been massive. Also I'd want Michael Piller involved somewhere as he was part of the reason why DS9 was so damn good not to mention his contribution to First Contact being the better movie of the TNG era. He's gone and done a fine job on the Dead Zone TV series that I'm really looking forward to seeing the 2nd Season here in NZ. Brannon Braga is a lame writer IMHO. I was disappointed in the finale of Voyager.
Other movies:
South Park 2
Donkey Kong (in CGI or something)
Another X-Files movie would have been cool
The Silmarillion (if done right)
The Hobbit (as long as it's done by Peter Jackson)
A Wonder Woman movie
A Captain America movie
A Green Lantern movie
A Thor movie (it has a lot of epic potential like Wonder Woman. I could imagine Yngwie Malmsteen composing some music for it. That would be sweet)

Well, I got to the second page and forgot how many pages the thread had, so I'm just going to post my two cents right away and get it over with.
Ghostbusters was the first movie I ever saw, and therefore it holds a very high place in my heart. I watched it at least 100 times when I was a kid, and it was great to watch it for the first time in about 7 years when I was about 15 and discover that it had an entirely different life then -- when you're five, you don't know it's a comedy. I loved the TV show, I loved the sequel...great flick.
So I have to say I'd love to see a sequel. I don't know how it'd work, and I don't know what would have to be changed or recast, but keeping it as close to the first two would rock.
I'm hoping Die Hard 4 is quality, Bruce Willis is still one of my favorite actors and I loved the first and third Die Hard...seems pretty easy to make a quality action movie as long as the plot's sound and it makes sure to avoid those "not again!" jokes that weakened the second.
Cause another post mentioned it, sure I'd like to see another South Park film -- as long as Paramount reissued the original's DVD with some fittingly good special features -- I'm still angry.
I thought The Animatrix was good enough to warrant another collection. I don't know if it would be a sequel, or if it would follow anything in the sequel fashion, but you get the drift.
Evil Dead IV I'm just praying for.
And, finally...I suppose I'd like to see Pixar make another sequel. In general. I thought Toy Story 2 was their best movie, and the spin they put on the characters...it was just brilliant. I loved it, and it should, in my opinion, stand as what makes a sequel worth making. Peace.

ARGH!! YES!! THERE SHOULD BE A MARIO BROTHERS SEQUEL!
That's such a stupidly brilliant movie. You all know what I mean.

Superman (a few years from now with the Smallville cast)
Beverly Hills Cop 4 (I think it could happen)
Grand Theif Auto (Ray Liota starring)
Roses Are Red (third Alex Cross movie, I think a script is being worked on for it, I would love to see all the Cross novels on the big screen.)

The Hobbit ( directed by Peter Jackson)
Hitman

My DREAM movies:
Silmarillion (NEVER!)
The Hobbit (most likely will be)
History of Middle Earth (NEVER!)
Lord of the Rings: The Gay Marriage [frodo+sam] (NEVER!!!!)
The Hours 2
The Others 2 (YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!! Nicole Kidman gets ALL FREAKY and evil and haunts the new residents like all hell and it could be such an awesome horror movie)
Star Wars Episodes 7-9
Star Wars KOTOR
droidguy1119
10-19-2003, 08:20 PM
Uhhh...WTF?
Knights of the Old Republic and Episodes VII-IX would all suck, because the first one would now be a "based-on" movie, and most of them are pretty weak, because they never live up, and Episodes VII-IX would be even worse, because Lucas has already done enough damage with Episodes I and II.
There are no plans for The Hobbit at this point. Until I hear that New Line is thinking about it, I would actually bet against it being made.
The Hours 2? What?
The History of Middle Earth isn't a sequel, and isn't a movie, really, it'd be a documentary. I don't have anything against it being made though. Silmarillion might be a movie...but I dunno.
Yeah...the gay marriage thing ain't gonna happen either. Not to knock it, but...yeah. Not gonna happen. Especially not with Elijah Wood, who publicly stated that he doesn't think Sam is gay.
And I never saw The Others.
Anyway, I think my real dream sequel, although its time has probably passed, is the long-rumored Ghostbusters III, although it'd have to have some pretty big roles (even if they aren't the actual Ghostbusters...they're getting old and I have to make some sort of concession) for the four main actors...

The Hobbit will most likely be made if the patent/copyright issues are worked out (new line only owns some rights, others own different rights, the rights are scattered in other words)...come on, this is new line, TIME WARNER we're talking about, it woudl love to make more money.
If you don't know what the Hours is, get help and watch it!
Silmarillion and History would be good television programs for a series or you know. NOT good movies.
WATCH the others!!
