Well as Warner Bros seem to be screwing up the new Superman film (Jon Peters Producer and McG Director) one would hope they get something right.
Now Matthew Bomer and Brendan Fraser are not right (too young (Bomer) and doesn't have the right look (Fraser).

Here's who I would consider casting. He plays the shy, awkward type well in John Doe and certainly has a rougher and closer look to Superman to me:-

Dominic Purcell (33)

Thoughts?

Purcell would be a good Superman, but I think that James Caviezel would be perfect.

My god...isn't McG the loser that directed the Charlies Angels movies? And Brendon Fraser as Superman??? If so this flick is doomed to fail....someone please tell me I'm wrong! If this goes down with the current people it might even be worse than "The Hulk"

Durden yep thats the bloke, and I agree 100% with you.

And Batfreak Jim Caviezel is also a good choice - he's one I
suggested also a while back - it would definitely be between
Jim and Dom - they are not too well known, so would keep
the budget a bit more grounded (no pun intended)

Supermans played out. Need to go in a new direction.

I like "Hulk" and think it was a great movie, except for some death scenes, too much mumbo-jumbo, hulk dogs and the completly stupid end fight!

Superman is not played out. He can be re-introduced to a new generation. With special/visual effects improving dramtically since the last (and awful) Superman, justice can be done to put Superman on the screen as he should be seen. The only problem is getting a good story, director, actors and crew together.

I think Dominic Purcell looks like someone took Mel Gibson's head and stretched it sideways.

You know, the one's that shake, up and down...? And speaking of Brendan Fraser, yes, he would be great as the supes. And thanks to the Matrix, we can see just how crazy an scene as simple as "flying" can look, very impressive I think, I can just see it...

Keanu would of made a good superman.

Since neo is the superman for the 21st Century!

Ashton Kutcher is now out of the running. Ashton was holding out for Batman - thank god he didn't get that either!

Chen, Warner Bros are not waiting for "Smallville" to end. They are pushin forward with Superman on the big screen.
Warners will continue "Smallville" for as long as it is popular - it makes business sense for them to do that.
