Forum Moderators??

Myself, Sniktawt, and a few other users think it would be a good idea to have "Forum Moderators" again.

Recently we have noticed not many Mods around, and when they are here they miss stuff..This is becoming a problem.

Alot of Battle Threads have popped up all over the place, many of these are just new versions of long-running threads...They are not closed, so begin cluttering up the boards.

The Matrix board was flooded with topics about the new trailer that came online, no mod was around to clean it up.

The LOTR forum is becoming a mess with all the hype over the new trailer...Things will only get worse for these forums as their films get closer to release.

We just think it would be a good idea and make things run smoother...This is just our opinion.

The mods are great but forum moderators may not be neccasary...Perhaps just another mod who is on alot...

Tyross, look at the LOTR forum theres like 10 threads about the new ROTK trailer. an extra mod wouldn't hurt.

This thread is about maintaining some control on the other forums besides community.They are becoming a mess.

The new mode should be someone who is liked and someone who goes to every forum.
That's just my 2 cents.;)

Personally, I don't think forum moderators should be elected by the posters because in the end it'll just end up a popularity contest.

Why stay in Community all the time? The whole purpose of mods is so that they can patrol the threads..if one isn't on, then another can browse the forums. It'd be pointless to have just a "community" mod, I think.

Well, that kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it? Many of the forums get spammed but Community is hit the hardest, from what I see. Community and LOTR as of late ( :funny: )

Rogue you seem to be missing me on this.
Mine and Spideys and a few other people's problems are that things are being messed up because some of the crap going on is being missed because the mods aren't going down as often to the threads with the problems.

I'll take this chance to send a bit of praise towards the mods. I for one think the mods do a good job as it is.

If you are on the boards alot of course you are going to see spoilers in titles etc before the mods get a chance to clean them up but they usually do, pretty quickly. And with other problems you just have to PM them and thethey will sort it out.

Now that I have more time to address this properly.

Yes we do need another mod I've been saying this for ages but these things do take some time.

However the candidates are a lot tougher to pick than you'd think.

You have to keep in consideration everything from their past history on the board to how much they're on currently to what they might have going on in the near future, do the want the job are they usually level headed etc etc etc.

And ted thanks for noticing that Iben's on vacation and we are one short right now.

I'll be the first to admit that I've been a little lazy with some of the Studio Tour forums lately, as for having moderators for every forum again, I don't really have an opinion about it, it's up to Mirko in the long run, but I will promise to keep a better eye on things outside community as well. :)
And of course you can always PM me or one of the other mods if you notice anything that needs to be moderated .

Yep, I always get results when I PM a mod.
Maybe some members feel they are intruding or just scared to speak up so they don't PM a problem to a mod and that's why a lot of problems go unnoticed..

A few points that I'd like to add. Snik, you'd be suprised how often people that post in Community alot also go outside that forum. It's just that some of us don't post there. I for one avoid posting in some forums because of the mentality of some of the posters there. I read almost every thread in LOTR but won't post there due mostly to posters like Slipknot. Don't forget the whole point of this thing is a need for a mod that is on alot. Some of the choices you've listed are on everyday but it's mostly for 30 minutes or so. I would like to see another mod like Iben who has no life and is on constantly.

I ventured to The LOTR forum for the first time tonight (I love the movies but am not rabid over it) and All I can say is Wow.Those boys can analyze a trailer .Crazy stuff IMO.

We do really need a moderator to watch the Matrix forum more often. Ive had countless times of moderation required, from insulting to repeated threads that need to be linked, to Keanu Reeves being gay posting homosexual picture of him from another film, to the occasional discussion on how large Monica Belluci's breasts are. For the serious ones ive had to PM a moderator. The Lord of the Rings one could use it sometimes too.

Those movies have some crazy fans.I didn't realize this till i went ther yesterday.I mean they post screen caps from the ROTK trailer and try to figure out where it's going to be in the movie or it's meaning.

How about instead of having new mods everywhere, you just get two new mods, that way one can mod all the forums in studio tour and the other one can mod back lot. Then you can leave the rest as they are.
