I was just reading posts etc. and a few things occurred to me.

The Oracle said Neo's "mind separated from his body"

Smith is inside Bane in the real world (or matrix within a matrix; whatever gets you off), after kind of downloading himself in the human Bane's mind

Now I haven't really thought it out but what if Neo, when he stopped the sentinels, did something similar i.e. He interacted with these machines (via his changes due to mixing with Agent Smith i.e. "Something of me imprinted onto you") and "touched the source" with his mind.

Bear with me.

I mean that just as Smith downloaded himself into Bane, maybe Neo, through his final act, downloaded himself into the machine subconscious, or mainframe, which is why he appears to be in a coma.

Not into the 'mind' of the squiddies, which he disabled, but into the 'mind' of the source that they are connected to.

It fits, so why not?

Im not exactly sure what you're getting at though. The main theory right now here in the Matrix forum is that, yes, when going into a coma he ended up getting thrown back into the Matrix, which is where he currently is. Thus why in the trailers you see him waking up... inside the Matrix.

That seemed like the only theory you quoted though. And if so, yes it's been thought about, and is the most logical one currently.

Dude, when Neo stopped the squiddies...his mind touched the source, ie. was downloaded into the source ie. not the matrix, not the real world but the matrix mainframe (I don't know much about computers, but the part that controls the matrix, where the prorams originate)...

like how agent smith was downloaded into bane's mind

thus neo's mind was downloaded into the mainframe

iw NOT inside the matrix and NOT inside the real world BUT BETWEEN them

like how the architect's room was sort of between the worlds (not really in the matrix) for i doubt the arch was killed in the explosion

i think that it's pretty interesting, and i can't pick out one theory which i see to be more likely at the moment

Except, like many of us have already said, this has already been mentioned and discussed before. This theory is basicly what the majority of us think has happened. But actually that he's back in the Matrix from the results (which is he obviously is from the trailers).
