those are some of the best i have seen on these boards, but since you asked for critiques and comments here are mine. you need to study human anatomy a little more, i noticed that in some of the pics certain parts were disproportionate (sp?) however they are all good. they just need a little work, wolverines head is great though! best on here good job!

also the shading is great! i am an artist and shading done that well is rare, i say it again, GREAT SHADING!

Yah, I've gotten a lot of good feedback on my shading. Could you be a bit more specific about the disproportionate areas? I know Neo's head is alittle big, but the rest should be fine since I took them right off of production photos.

I wouldn't say he's the best on here, he's ok. I seen his work on the shh boards I think.

His anatomy is way off and his shading is by far his best asset.

Still good work, But best on here , That's debatable.

Less is more, I always say.

Not the best by far , Look at Jackman's hand.It is not that good.

Haha. Hey like I said criticism is welcome. But on one condition, you gotta try to be a little more specific and give me helpful hints(if you can). Really the only purpose behind criticism is to help the artist. And man how did this whole thing about being the best come up so soon? My first board here and already this. I guess there aren't as many artist here as in SHH? With that......

sniktawt, where is my anatomy off? I know Neo's head is too big.

Wringlets, do you have a link or anything to Jackman's hand's work? What seems rushed compared to what? I still haven't acquired much patience with my drawings seeing as how I just got into serious drawing a yr ago. All the pencils were each done under an hour and the Neo pic took about an hour and a half. Doesn't look like Keira Knightley? She looks quite different in different movies, photos, etc. I did that pic right off of a premier photo and I gotta tell ya, if you held the 2 pics side by side they do look quite similar.

I think Wringlets means the stubs for fingers that Jackman has.

Anatomy is off on a lot on Knightley her stomach is way too long. And the eyes of Kelly Hu.

And I don't think it looks like Knightley Either.
If you want to be an artist you have to take being critiqued.

Like snik said you have Raw talent you'll get better with time.

I think he's got incredible shading.I've seen pros that couldn't shade as well as sk8nrail.

I really hope he keeps on drawing and makes a career from it.If he doesn't know, I'm 32, I have a career, I draw for fun, to be honest my art is mediocre but I have been drawing for about 28 years.The toughest critic is always yourself.I took a year in graphic designs but found a career in this wasn't for me.I wanted a more hands on job.I just became uninterested.Somedays at work I think to myself, what if ?But I don't sweat it I do ok I'm my own boss and I still draw from time to time.

The last thing I want is a war.Your art is good sk8, I like it.It's just untapped and I think with time you will go somewhere with this.Your heart is in it that's for sure.

The way I see it no one is better than anyone, it's all about style.My style is like Bruce Timm and John Byrne mostly cartoony, although I can go realistic, like Alex Ross ,the style you are.
Keep it up, I know you'll be something.

I asked this before what type of pencils do you use.

Wow, I thought jackman's hand was an artist here. That was just stupid of me.:D Hey, I can take being critiqued. But obviously there are gonna be times when the artist doesn't agree or has to explain himself. As for the anatomy on Knightley's stomach being long, she's a skinny gal. I'll post the exact pic I work from. And honestly, I gotta say the 2 pics look similar. If you still don't think so the pic will help u be more specific as to how I can perfect it. I know Kelly Hu's eyes are off, that was my first attempt at penciling, so it was more or less just practice for some shading. Oddly enough, that seems to be the favorite w/ a lot of people.

snikt, again, sorry about that whole mixup. The exact pencil I use is a mechanical Staedtler TRIGON. As for lead, whatever came with the pencil. Like I said, these were my first serious attempts at penciling. "I think he's got incredible shading.I've seen pros that couldn't shade as well as sk8nrail." Geez, thanx man! I'm very flattered, and at the time I just figured why not do some work with pencils? Can't hurt.:D I guess it's a good thing that I'm also "untapped", seeing as how I haven't even enrolled in college yet. And yes, I do plan to go somewhere with this. I'm planning to major in Industrial Design. If you know anyone's website that had taken the same major, that could be helpful.

I like how you modified it and made it your own leaving off the shawl and the necklace adds your own take on the piece.

yeah she looks a lot like portman, well except that i think knightly is better looking, and not to mention she can actually act, so she is quite different from portman in that aspect

Yeah agreed Natalie Portman has gotten bad since she involved her self in those pointless Star Wars Prequels.

Keira Knightley played Queen Amidala's Handmaiden/Decoy in Episode I obviously because of her uncanny resembelance to Natalie Portman.

Yep he's coming.Try drawing some non- Neo Keanu pics.Then you should get him down.

I think it's a pretty good likeness.If you didn't tell me who it was I would still have said NEO so that's a good thing.

The non-Neo Keanu looks extremly like Keanu, while the other looks a bit like him.Maybe it's the glasses.If you darken in Neo's hair it will look like him more.

Yah, I look like my avatar too. Only I have darker skin, and my hair is longer and black, and I don't wear the visor around my eyes. The nose is pretty much the same though.... ;)
