Anyone else tuning in tonight for the 2003 Video Music Awards on MTV? I'm actually looking foward to it. Especially since Chris Rock is hosting. He always does a good job and he never bombs. Plus there will be a ton of surprises and cool guests. :applaud:

The video music awards is always live, its the movie awards that are taped 5 days in advance. And yes I'm watching I already got my tape ready to tape it. I love mtv's awards shows.

It didnt look like they were a few seconds ahead because they didnt censor when Fred Durst flipped the bird.

The VMA's were dissapointing this year... they weere censored... i was like WTF? and they must have had a like 5 to 20 minute delay or it was taped... and plus the acts wernt to great this year.

The show was good this year. Chris Rock didnt dissapoint again this year he was funny as hell. The highlights for me was Madonna,Christina,Britney,and Missy on the same stage, their perfomance was great and the kiss was cool and unexpected. Mary J blige did a good permormance as well as 50 cent with a cameo by snoop dogg. I'm glad to see Missy finally win her long overdue award, as well as eminem, and 50 cent. The show was not the best, but it was still good.

what sad is that when Brittany kissed Madonna, the stupid cameras quickly turn to Justin, but then it cut off a part of Christina Aguilera and Madonna kissing, stupid MTV

i tried to watch this today (i only saw the opening monolgue and the opening performance last night but taped the rest) but it was too cheesy even the acceptance speeches were cheesy :eek:
like when justin won the pop music award thingy he ended his speech like "i love this award as much as i love gum" am i th only one who found that cheesy?


i turned it off really fast

though chris rock was funny (as normal) but all he did was the monologue (from what i saw)

Anyhoo...Nothing against Missy, but I still think Johnny Cash should have won best video! And this is from a guy that dosen't even listen to Country regularly! I wonder if the Man In Black will release another ad in a magazine "thanking" the people in the industry for their "support?" :hehe:

That whole "publicity stunt" was totally scripted. That crap was all about an aging has-been trying to hang on as long as possible and two former teen stars trying to make sure their careers have some longevity. Everybody was so damn busy looking at their scantily clad bods and their spit swapping act that the fact they sounded GODDAMN AWFUL singing was totally overlooked. But of course, we've all known this for quite sometime already (the fact that Britney and Madonna can't sing...I'll concede that Christina can). Spotlight whoring...hold on as long as you can!!!

I wanted to see more Awards for Rock bands ... For god's sakes the only Rock Band in the Category for the Rock Award was Metallica .. The rest was Alt. and Punk .. :(

This year show was wayy better than last years'. The performances were very good IMO. Mary J., 50, Coldplay, Christina, the opening with Madonna/Britney/Christina and Missy all did great, but Beyonce's performance was HOT. Good Lord.

Yeah it's not just you. I don't understnad it either....Christina is way better than Britney especially with her black hair she looks way better.
