Halo is MUCH more fun than SOCOM, and that's coming from a PS2 owner. SOCOM is alright, overrated IMO. Halo is 5 times betterfor the multiplayer let alone the game itself.

I like halo because you can use any weapon or vehicle you come across. The level design is fun expecially in the vs mode. Socom has online possibilities though...but Halo 2 will also be online :)

In no way is Halo over-rated at all. It has one of the best single player campaigns that I have ever played on a 1st person shooter (note: I'm not saying best STORY). It isn't just "Run. Shoot. Run. Shoot." You actually have to use strategy while fighting your enemies. And often that strategy is just "not fight"! On more then one occasion, I found myself pinned down around a corner, and the only option I had was to get the hell out of there!

Plus, this game has one of the best AIs around. While playing, I was thinking to myself "If I were him, I would...", only to watch him do that.

Anyway, I rambling right now, mainly because I only bought an Xbox a couple of weeks ago, and only beat Halo a couple of days ago. So, anyone who says it's only "alright", obviously needs a stern talking to....

I've played it and as you may have noticed I didn't like it. You can't die in the game for **** sake, it was far too easy because of this.

Most of you were probably drawn to the stunning visuals but "graphics aren't everything" to have a good game you need story and that's what Halo lacked IMO. They could've put more thought into the game instead of putting so much time and effort into graphics

Clearly, you haven't played the game for more then 10 minutes.
Because you can die, quite easily. And the graphics aren't that great. The story is alright, not the best, but good enough. And this game has something better then graphics and story put together. And that's gameplay.

Because if you got past the first few levels on Normal, you'd have found that dying is pretty easy if you run around blindly.

Anyone who's played the game for any length of time (at least on Normal), knows that it isn't impossible to die....

I played it on Normal, and maybe I should rephrase what I said by saying that you can't die, by that I meant when you die you don't have to start the level again which makes it easier to play, which in turn means that it's impossible to die

Play it on Legendary .. By Yourself .. Then once you've beaten that then you can say that any other setting is simple ..

It took me 2 weeks to beat Halo on Legendary but I did it! .. :D

Is that right Riddle? I'm gonna rephrase what you said right now by saying "people who LIKE Halo shouldn't be playing video games".

I have been playing video games for 15 years and games have gone downhill storywise as the graphics went up. People these days don't seem to care about the games but how good the graphics are, this leaves the opportunity for the developers to keep sending the same **** out every year with a lesser story.

The thing is that I like 1st person shooters but Halo just doesn't do anything for me. There's no excitement factor involved, every level is just the same bull**** over and over again and then you have multiplayer.

There is only one good multiplayer level in the deathmatch mode and for an over hyped game like Halo I would expect a lot better.

I never said that everyone was wrong, I'm not the only person who doesn't like Halo and I also know a lot of people who think it's over rated.

I don't hate the XBox, I think it's a very good console... too bad it has no good games.

So, what's so good about Halo? The single player game is just a graphically enhanced version of Doom (mindless action) and the multiplayer gets old very quickly 'cause there're around 2 good weapons and 1 good level.

KOTOR is a great game. Morrowind is a great game, Halo is a great game, Dead of Alive 3 is a great fighting game (graphics wise and gameplay wise)...and these are just to name a few. The console is only halfway through its life though, you also have Fable, Ninja Gaiden, Starcraft Ghost, and a handful of other great games coming out.

Played Morrowind, thought it was mind numbingly boring.

Dead of Alive 3 is almost exactly the same as DoA 2 which is available on PS2 and DC (the DC is the better version).

Starcraft Ghost isn't an XBox exclusive title, it may be for a limited time but then it'll be on all consoles.

I will admit that Fable sounds interesting but the point i'm trying to make is: XBox has no good games, it may recieve some if they ever finish Fable, but then it'll have 1 good game... not too impressive for a console halfway through it's life.

I have several games, don't get me wrong...but most are multi-platform, like Enter the Matrix.

EtM was good, Halo is good, KOTOR>all, DoA3 was pretty good, Superman (hey, i know its not a good game but I'm a fanboy and its the reason i bought an xbox before it got bad reviews), Spidey, and a few more I can't think of now. To be honest, I have all 3 consoles and I own the most games on Gamecube. If something comes out multiplatform, I usually buy for gamecube because the disks are hard to scratch and the system is very portable.

Yeah, I hate going between a mouse and keyboard. For example, I bought jedi knight II for pc originally but after beating it, I bought it for xbox so I could play with the xbox controller.

Yeah, but snake is much more in-touch with his surroundings, he doesnt even need to have prior knowledge of the area, as soon as he enters, he can evaluate the entire place. MC will be caught off guard by Snake.
