I must say, it looks like one hell of a movie. Rider Strong is going to be in it. :D Being such a huge Boy Meets World fan, I am so excited about this film. It looks very promising.

I've seen 2 trailers for it and I have to admit it looks like a great movie and it's based on a real event

Taken from rottentomatoes.com

"Based on skin-curdling tales of the real life "flesh eating virus," CABIN FEVER blends the elements of classic horror films of the 70's and 80's with modern day medical terror. Necrotising Fasciitis, the flesh eating strep, devours over 1500 victims annually in the United States alone, releasing toxins in the body that can eat through a human in a matter of hours."

That's about as real as it gets. There were never any five teenagers stuck in a cabin out in the middle of nowhere with this virus.

Yes, but the writer experienced Necrotising Fasciitis first hand

But that doesn't base the event sof the movie any more in truth. But I suppose this doesn't really matter.

A movie based on a real life virus? Thats not horror. Horror movies are supposed to have a killer, creature, or supernatural phenomena wreaking havoc.

I'd say the virus is supernatural phenomena wreaking havoc. Or at least it's Medical phenomena.

The audience needs a character they can relate to, see, and be afraid of or creeped out by. A virus isn't gonna do that.

A virus will do that, take Final Destination, you don't see the thing that's trying to kill them but you know it's there

At first when I saw the poster for this movie I said I wanted to see this, but after I saw a preview for this and learned that it was about flesh eating virus' I am rethinking it. I dont know if I wanna see a hour and half movie about a real life flesh eating virus thats to surreal for me.

Can't really compare death in a non-physical form which is a supernatural entity, to a virus which is more of a man made lifeform.
