View Full Version : More fun with lightsabers....
What more could a SW fan ask for than 2 kick ass games in two months. Sept 17th Jedi Academy comes out. Yep, I have mine on preorder. This game looks great! It's not an RPG as much as KOTOR is, but the gameplay looks sick and the character customization looks like fun as well. I'm surprised the game came out as fast as it did.
Is anyone else going to pick this one up?

AHHHH!!! I just found out that Jedi Academy for the PC is this September and the XBOX version has no release date!! AHHHH!

Don't have a PC?
Not one with a graphics card to support that game. Plus I was never one for PC games. I like sittin' on the couch or in bed when I play....with games that is. :D

I just hope this game makes up for that giant disappointment (IMO) that was called Jedi Knight 2...
I was a real Jedi Knight fan back in the day... wow, that really dates me...
Yeah, I loved Dark Forces. What didn't you like about JK2? I thought is was pretty good. Took a while to get your saber, but from there I found it pretty entertaining.

I don't know... It just missed something that Jedi Knight captured perfectly in Multiplayer, making it an Unreal clone. The Single Play mode was nicely done, I'll give it that, but personally, I liked the gunfighter aspects of the original Jedi Knight, and that was severely lacking in this game.

Whew, just found out that Jedi Academy will be arriving on the XBOX November 17th. No other consoles are due to get the game.
Man, the PS2 is getting no love from Star Wars.

Yeh, but PS2 has had some alright games in the past (that are Star Wars)
Now it's X-box and NGC's turn (with Jedi Academy and Rebel Strike)
and KOTOR...best SW game ever. Rebel Strike might be the only reason I buy a GC.
The PS2 only has one SW not on the XBOX, Bounty Hunter.

Is KOTOR coming out for the GameCube?
Also what about Jedi Knight III, is there any release dates for the GameCube console.
KOTOR is too big of a game, (memory) for the GC and PS2. I don't think it will ever come out for those consoles. And there are no plans yet for Academy on the GC. It would make sense considering the GC got Jedi Outcast, but on the official Lucas Arts site its not listed.

At least there's Rogue Squandron III - Rebel Strike to look forward to for the GC. Hopefully, Jedi Knight III will come out for the GC in the not too distant future. Looks like I'm gonna have to buy an X-box sooner or later in the upcoming months.
Yeah, and I'm going to have to buy a GC for Rogue Squadron, damn exclusive rights....did Rebel Strike come out yet?
And yes KOTOR is that amazing, it warrants the purchase.

Rebel Strike is out over here in the UK in November. There's also Galaxies for the PC coming out. I can't take it much longer, I want them all and now.
I hear that. I pretty much buy EVERY Star Wars game for the system I own.

I'm not one for PC games but I think that I'll just have to go and get KOTOR and Jedi Acdemy for the PC. I'll probably think about getting an X-Box though, hopefully the price will drop in the next few months.
Nah, I don't play PC games either. When you get KOTOR and you have some questions don't hesitate to ask me!

It looks very interesting to be able to play in the Star Wars universe long before the events of Darth Vader. Here's to 2004 and may Lucas Arts bring us many more great SW games. I just wished that you could still play as Kyle Katarn in JKIII, although the thought of creating your own Jedi is impressive and it I can't wait to come up against a Rancor.

The best part of single player 4 me is *SPOILER* When you get to choose between being good or bad, i enjoyed killing that idiot Rosh :) Also i love the darkside powers like choke, smashing stormtroopers against walls is fun :applaud:

Oh, and for the record, the choke/grip is how you pick up an enemy and swing them around and hit them against the wall or floor. Force push just... well, um, pushes them down. :rolleyes:
