Is getting the Network Adapter for the PS2 worth it.

I have been thinking about getting an adaptor for my ps2 but thought that you needed to hook it up to your computer to play it. Then a friend of mine says you play it through your TV just by connecting it to your phone line. I need clarification on this, if anybody can. And also does it have a monthly cost to play it? And is it worth it?

U hook it up to ur PS2 and play through ur TV like normal...Not sure about the price.
