Honestly there's debates on it.

Here's a quote from a debate:
"Use Ethernet unless your cable modem supports USB 2.0 as well as your computer."

They're pretty much both up there. Some people say USB is so and so times faster, while others say Ethernet is way more megabytes faster. Either way, they're both pretty fast.

Honestly though, I'd say, from experience at jobs that Ethernet is much better. It works more quickly. Some versions even much better than USB 2.0.
