I was having this conversation with my sister the other day about celebrities. IMO i think we have no right to delve into other ppl's private business. My sister countered that arguement by saying that if ppl are in the public eye they have to deal with that.

what do u think.

I agree with you Redman. Leave 'em alone. Why do people really care anyway?

I dont think it should be taken as far as it is...I could care less if Kobe Bryant is innocent and I really dont need to know everytime Benny and Jenifer have a fight

Nor do I care whether Natalie Portman scratches her arse and just how much weight Christine Aguliera has put on. But there do seem to be quite a few who do.

I do feel sorry for celebrities who are constantly hounded by photographers, but I tend to waffle on this one, mainly because they know what they're getting into when they choose to try to become movie stars. As Ray Romano said to his wife one time when she complained about something like this, "Go cry in your bags of money!"

That's true Yeahyeah, but what about their families and lovers who get hounded just because the people they love or were born to are famous? They don't really get much say in it.
I guess that's another kettle of fish entirely, but I thought I'd just bring it up anyway for people to ponder on.

Now, back to the point. People born into fame, like the royals and child stars who began with little understanding of what they were getting themselves into can't really be blamed if their talents get them this kind of baneful attention, and not because of any wanton need to be in the spotlight.

This, as I'm sure some people will probably be pointing out, is a minority but there are plenty of them and when I see Natalie Portman scratching her butt in a four page special in some magazine, I can't help but feel sorry for her.

I saw a two page feature in some awful newspaper on how some celeb is "so dull" lots of photos of them doing daily chores etc - It begs the question then why are you running a two page feature on them?

ambrosia, i agree. it really depends on the celebrity. for example, shannon daugherty seems like she brings it on herself most of the time. others do not.

I'm kind of split on this issue... I think that everyone has a right to have a private life without everyone in your business, but when you're in the public eye, ppl feel as if they have the right to know every intimate and personal detail. I think celebrities should just accept the fact that people are curious and deal with it. I mean if I got paid the kind of salary they make, I wouldn't care if people wanted to know about my personal life. It comes with the territory.

To be honest I don't care what most celebs do, when they aren't entertaining us. They are people they do the same things that the rest of us do. I feel sorry for the people who are obsessed with celebs they need to get a life.

I think that they deserve to be left alone, I mean acting is a job like everything else, and we should be glad that there are some people talented enough to give us that kind of entertainment. But on the other hand, they know what they're getting themselves into when they start a career in the public eye.

I understand that some famous people bring it upon themselves but there are some that don't. I also believe that maybe if we treated them like normal people and not care that they fight w/ their love ones or pick their nose; some of them might not have the attitudes that have been said to have. They might be more open to their fans for autographs and stuff like that. Plus the only thing private if I was curious would be like their hobbies or what charties they contribute to.

mostly inadventantly, but that is the price that they pay for being famous. we all want to know about them
