I received the soundtrack yesterday and it's great, but does anyone else notice anything odd about the music vs. the track listing? I wonder what fool got a hold of this CD and wrote the tracks...they're either one jump ahead or one step behind. I'm one of those anal soundtrack people who like the tracks labeled and in the correct order.

A better listing might be this:

1. Fog Bound
2. Will and Elizabeth / Jack Sparrow Arrives / The Medallion Calls?
3. Jack's Near Escape
4. Swords Crossed
5. The Black Pearl
6. The Black Pearl (cntd) / Commandeering the Interceptor

It gets confusing between tracks 7-10 - I've narrowed it down to:
Sailing on the Interceptor / Ritual in the Cave / Elizabeth's Rescue / The Pearl Gives Chase / Battle / Walking the Plank

11. Duel in the Cave / Battle on the Dauntless / Jack is Cursed
12. Duel / Battle / Elizabeth to the Rescue / Last Shot
13. Curse is Lifted / Death of Barbosa / Opportune Moment / Black Pearl is Gone / Underwater March (for some insane reason, the marching pirates are placed at the very end of this track)
14. Jack's Rescue / He's a Pirate / Jack and the Black Pearl
15. Drink Up Me Hearties Yo Ho! / End titles

Maybe a little obsessive but it's been bothering me :)

I haven't seen the film yet (doesn't come out hear till September) but the score is awesome. Have you read the review at filmtracks.com? That guy murdered it! He hated it. It was a pretty sad review because I think he missed the point of the score and the fact that they didn't have much time to write it after Alan Silvestri was dumped.

But I don't understand why so many soundtracks have the wrong name given to thw wrong scene like this.

I actually don't mind if scores are in the order they appear in the movie or not, because it usually means the beginning is good, the mddle is boring and the end is good again. If they mix it up then it means (usually) that listening to it on album is a bit varied and you don't have all the acton cues at the end of the CD as the movie is concluding. But I don't understand why they give a piece the wrong title for the scene???????????
