I knew about it, but still bought Crash anyway. I want the original movie, that got this Best Picture win. The Directers Cut almost cuts out 20 minutes. I might get it anyway to check it out, plus the bonus features. But it isn't that big of a deal, I rather have the regular version not shortened.

Last DVD I got was Capote (region 1)

Last night though I pre-ordered King Kong out 10th April (luckily in the UK we only have the one choice - Widescreen 2 Disk :) ) and Brokeback Mountain out 24th April.

My parents picked it up for me or else I would have gone to Best Buy or something, but I'll ask here too. Is this Walmart's assholic way of saving themselves some money now? By screwing us out of the 2 disks and still charging full price?

This is what I don't understand about the US market. It can't actually cost more than a few $'s more for the 2-disk edition therefore why people would just prefer the 1-disk edition I don't know (might as well rent it).

But with a film like KK, ripe for extra features, why do they even make a 1-disk edition. Surely with a 3 hour film there's no space for any extra features whatsoever on the 1-disk and yet even the most 'basic' films technically (and by that I mean films like the Best Picture nominees this year) will have some extra features on the 1-disk. Just seems there are so many versions available it's really confusing and irritating for the consumer.
